It's quiet (though not silent), straightforward to configure for those w/ networking experience, but this NAS has so many features that reading the manual is a MUST for those new to network storage. I purchased the BR model (w/ NAT router) & was pleased w/ its basic features. My only complaint is that I'd hoped for a configurable firewall in the web admin. Hope is not lost though, as the company offers a very wide array of add-on module for this product. If you currently keep an old computer around to act as a file server, print server, music server, or even router, you really need to step up to the RAID protection and peace of mind the N5200BR can offer. The ability to offer 2 separate RAID arrays in the 5 slots is a benefit I could only find in this unit. (oh... my wife appreciates the drastic reduction of cluster at the computer desk too!).
