(More customer reviews)I bought this lens with the idea of using it in a wedding, along with a Canon 7D. The lighting was mostly indoors tungsten and some fluorescent. The lens did a great job of capturing images with little need for a flash. I also have the 50 mm f1.4, which is also a very good lens, but I found it less useful due to the need to zoom out. The 50 mm acts more like an 80 mm with the 7D.
The negative to be aware of is to do with the nature of low light photography with a wide aperture lens: you have to watch and make sure your depth of field is adequate, or some people in a group may end up being out of focus, if they are not at he same distance from the camera.
Overall, a great lens.
