Just finished building this out with an i7 920, and am really pleased so far. It's going to be a monster gaming machine, and runs Ubuntu (64 bit) with no issues. On-board RAID card is nice, though you'll want to ditch the stock CPU cooler if you plan on doing any overclocking.
A few things to be aware of:
- There are some issues with component layout. Right under that big heat sink near the chip is where they decided to place both CPU fan and board power sockets. It's a really bad place, as it's hard to get to and places cables near a component known to get hot.
- The audio plug is between the two PCIe slots, which will be a cable routing challenge if you're doing SLI with monster video cards.
- Not a big fan of how they did the 9 SATA ports (10 really, if you count the eSata port on the backplane). Sata 0-5 are run off the Intel southbridge, and SATA 6-7 and 8-9 are run off separate chipsests. SATA 7 is a port in the middle of the board, designed to drive a port on the front of the case. Anyway, you can only RAID each of the chipsets, meaning any big array you build will need to run off 0-5. There are also pauses during start for each chipset, which is annoying.
- A minor annoyance, but this board takes a while to POST (~20s).
Some things I really like:
- There are power, reset, and CMOS reset switches on the board, so you don't need to make case hookups while you debug stuff.
- There a 2-digit LED on the board, which shows error codes for anything wrong during POST, then turns into a CPU temperature monitor.
- Overclocker's dream. Control over all multipliers voltages needed to take your chip well past 4GHz.
My rig:
This board, with i7 920 (modest overclock to 3.5GHz)
Zalman CNPS9900LED Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler, with Arctic Silver 5
CORSAIR XMS3 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
GIGABYTE GV-N275UD-896I GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Video
3 x Western Digital RE3 WD1002FBYS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
(2 running in RAID1, the spare running as a scratch).
COOLER MASTER HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP Black Steel + Plastic and Mesh Bezel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Very nice!

EVGA X58 Classified3 Motherboard 141-GT-E770-A1 Review

I've built a few computers in my time using motherboards from different companies but this was definitely the easiest I've had the pleasure of setting up and using! I was tired of being a "guinea pig" for some company's effort of selling a board without doing what seemed to be proper testing, then waiting for a new Bios to fix the problems that everyone would be having. Being that this was my first i7 build along with using newer hardware that I had no experience with (OCZ Revo 120 Gb Pci SSD),all went together very easily. Not one hiccup. After reading a little about Overclocking the i7 ,this board took me there with very little effort, tested and stable. I doubt if there are any "better" motherboards out there and from what I read EVGA has THE BEST customer service. Great layout, good OC'er,great customer service, and Lifetime Warranty on this board, along with Amazon's fast shipping, you can't go wrong. I will buy EVGA again you can count on that!

First, if you want to run multiple ATI 5000 series Garaphics Cards in SLI... go on to another MOBO.
This MOBO is x16/x8 in 2-way SLI capable, but not x16/x16 in 2 or 3-way SLI.
But, for someone like me who is content with running one high-performance card...it's great!
I'm running a XFX HD5850, and a SATA III SSD harddrive, this thing is a Beast!!!
added on 12/4/2010... ordering another one of these today. The ASUS X58 Extreme MOBO in my other PC just Failed after just one year. (piece of crap).
Oh Yea...AMAZON ! Get on the Stick...there is a $10 Rebate on this MOBO until December 31st !!!

EVGA 141-BL-E760-A1 X58 Classified SLI Mainboard Review

EVGA 141-BL-E760-A1 X58 Classified SLI Mainboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is going to be a "mini-review" of the E760-A1 Classified Motherboard by our favorite silicon-sandwich maker, EVGA. Believe it or not Amazon.com gave me a deal on this "mainboard" or I'd still be staring at a standard EVGA BL-132-X58 3 x SLI Motherboard, and not this pretty Classified baby that's inside of my newest PC right now. So, thanks to Amazon.com, for making a bad thing right and taking care of business with me and the Classified.
I actually want to thank them a LOT for turning me onto this beautiful sculpture that's inside my HAF 932 "highly mod'd" PC since yesterday at about 9AM PST, because this is The Kind, as we say in Hawaii. Actually, it's Da Kine, which is KUHL, KUHL, KUHL! The most striking visual appeal of this board is the awesome black and red finish to *everything* there is, ie the theme is repeated from the DIMM slots, to the PCI-Express slots, to the CPU area, it's all mirrored in visually stunning graphics, colors, and finished, blackout Chrome metal, and a mirror-finished motherboard itself. Like WOW! Visually it's a 20+ on a 10-Scale, it just jumps out at you and says, "I am Class, and you may as well call me by my real name, 'Classified' before I whack you up side of da head!"
The board has *presence*, and features that beget a much better review than I am going to make tonight. All told, I have been up perhaps the better part of two days getting the new PC all gussied up in new Duds, including this beautiful thing, and my judgment and wit are on the wane, right about now...or I'd seriously get into the dialectics of the huge electronic masterpiece that this motherboard is. But I won't just now, promising to come back to this review and update it with impressions after a week, a month, heck, whenever I feel like it if you don't mind!
Wavey Davey gives this motherboard his solid 5-Stars ***** across the board, and I'll mention just a couple coup's that the board has that others do not:
1)There are 4 Full-Length 16/8 x Lane PCI-Express Slots, actually 5 (yes, that would be five!) with the single-lane slot for something like your X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro Sound Blaster card, like that...actually it's there for you to run, of course, Quad-SLI mode, if nothing else! How about that gamers? You could potentially, if you had enough power supply "firepower" and cables, (you'd need a minimum of a Kilowatt PSU to do this! [1000-Watts or higher!!])ie run 4 x 2 PSU-6-pin connectors to 4 matching cards, or rather 3 matching cards for gaming and that sort of deal (God forbid the scores with 3 cards in SLI mode!), and a 4th video card for "normal pursuits" like Folding@Home, doing Phys-X stuff, things like that.
2) Then there's the Custom Cooled North Bridge, I believe it's called (I'll research it and come back and change this if it's the South Bridge, hah-hah!). That black-anodized piece with an intricate and effective cooling heat sink setup looks so stealthy, and Darth-Vaderish, in all it's glory on the motherboard, that it will scare off heat! Well, would that it could...would be nice if it could, yah? And ON that North Bridge is a magically "glowing" LED "E" in EVGA Speak, the biggest, and baddest eletric LED graphical interface I've ever seen on a motherboard of anybody's making! WOW! It just looks positively stunning at night, or in a darkened room, to look inside your PC and see the "Glowing E" of EVGA, all nice and cozy on your motherboard. Nobody has that, for sure! This is unique!
3) The "running lights" in the Classified are also color-keyed along the company line, with a "red" ON button, normally it's green right? But not with this item, guys and gals! Red is "ON" and red is Good, so don't get confused and think that your motherboard is posting bad things and call Tech Support over at EVGA with a dire request for an explanation of this phenomenon...which looks Tres KUHL, like everything else about this motherboard does! It's just first class, and All First Class, from point to point, feature to feature, vs all the other boards for sale now.
Of course, the motherboard has the usual fare from EVGA, like the Digital Post Board at the lower, front edge of the board, conveniently located there for your perusal, and it will tell you the temp of the CPU at any given time, after full boot is made good, and up to then it's giving up all kinds of Post Codes, which are explained fully in the back of the rather massive "owners manual" that comes with the board. The "Activity Light" is Amber to Yellow-colored, so that's also a new wrinkle! At least the "Clear CMOS" button is still familiar Red, well, of course, it would be Red, right? Right!
The motherboard comes with a host of cables and things, a bunch of SLI-enabling cables for multiple Video Cards, different types of SLI (I later learned there are several(!) modes: SLI-2, SLI-3, and SLI-3 w/4th video card for Phys-X, FAH, or another monitor!). There are SATA cables, and otherwise some Molex connectors for your collection of fans and gadgets inside the case, something to help organize the deal so it won't look like a trash heap of wires in there!
There's also a Chrome-satin finish care portal arrangement, I believe it's called something particularly fitting, ie it's called the I/O Shield... It's the place where all the USB, FireWire, Ethernet, RJ-45, and other ports like PS2 ports, are, on the so-called back of the case....that's what they furnish you. There's also a combo FireWire and USB port gadget, which can be placed in any open PCI slot (like if you're a true aficionado you're going to HAVE a clear or open PCI slot...don't think so! at least not in mine anyway).
I will caution those of you with an eSATA port in the front of your PC, like I have with my HAF 932, that you will NOT be able to hook up that port normally, shall we say, with the Classified, if you plan on utilizing that single lane-PCI Express slot, AND the adjacent PCI-Express full-length 16X Lane slot plus the flat-motherboard SATA connector. There is no way in Hades that you can put two cards of any persuasion there, and still have the connector free for the SATA part of your front panel, so I had to Pasadena on using that Single-Lane PCI-Express port for my X-Fi Titanium Sound Blaster Fatal1ty Pro Card, and front panel for that matter! It would have been nice there, the my front eSATA port is very, very important to me because I've got some eSATA external equipment that I like to use with the PC, and I NEEDED THAT PORT hooked up!
Alternatively, you can hook up that front eSATA/SATA port to the regular motherboard SATA connectors, and NOT use that particular motherboard SATA connection, and then use all 5 PCI-Express Slots for whatever purposes you wish, end of that story! EVGA has it all covered, trust me.
That's about it for my 1st impressions of this total KNOCKOUT and DRAG ME DOWN motherboard. It is so visually stunning you will not believe it goes in the bottom of your computer! Crazy!! I love it, I mean my PC is stylin' like never before tonight, Gosh Darn It! Why did they have to make it so pretty, anyway?
Of course I didn't mention this one's No.1 purpose in all of the above gadgets, and stuff! It's meant for the Intel i7 "Nehalem" CPU, and all of the OVERCLOCKING possible, all you could do, and THEN SOME, because there are things to do to your CPU with this board that I wouldn't dream of telling Intel, for fear of warranty banishment! This is the Overclocker's Dream, if there ever was one, so come one, come all, it's the E-760 EVGA Classified for you if you want to overclock unlike any other overclocker on your street!
Come get it, this is the one!
Wavey Davey 5-23-2009
ADDENDUM, 6-29-2009
A couple things that comes to mind with this setup which I have learned to love, that I didn't mention with the above "mini-review" which was written hastily, under the influence of a lack of sleep, ie before I had time to actually experience all of the blessings that the Classified bestows on its owners:
1) ELEET, aka E-LEET Tuning Utility
This is something that you've got to use to truly appreciate, and only time and your creativity stops miracles from happening with it punched up in the control center, your desktop! ELEET allows for fine tuning, ie adding additional overclocking parameters to your initial overclock just to make things more stable, push the "envelope" higher than it already is, by adjusting virtually *all* of the important Voltage and Frequency adjustments available with Classified. Let me give an example:
Let's say you boot up to a 4167Mhz overclock, dialing in 19 X 219 QPI, but your real goal is 4257Mhz. Small things make all the difference in the world doing this sort of thing, and here's where ELEET comes into play...
Open ELEET, "Voltages" tab, where you can increase VCore a minute (minoot!) amount, CPU VTT Voltage an equally minute amount, then go to the "Overclocking" tab. Hit the Increase Mhz tab ten (10) little clicks, and BAM! Instantly after hitting "Apply Selection" things rock, and roll, for a second or two as the computer's hardward is "adjusted" by ELEET, you're at 4257Mhz, the elusive goal is reached!
ELEET is the only hardware overclocking utility built into the GUI in any computer/motherboard/CPU tandem that I know of, and it's very, very effective...so there you go, another EVGA 1st, first on the block, first at the race, and there at the finish to hand you the trophy!
2) North Bridge, South Bridge, motherboard features unique to Classified
The North Bridge and South Bridge in the Classified put the pedal to the metal so to speak, they are the operating hardware features of this board that distinguish it from all others. Without...Read more›

PROs:
- Solid board. Very heavy compared to most other mobo's I've worked with (heavy being a good thing, due to the heatsink material, which you want in a mobo that will be running an i7)
Easy install
Easy setup.
I ordered one for a client and it operates fine. It was built for a business environment, so it is built as a desktop PC, NOT a gaming rig.
-cables - EVGA includes like 5 or 6 Sata cables, about 4 molex-to-sata adapters.
-adapters - evga includes the video connectors for multiple video card operation.
- onboard reset and cmos reset buttons
- 2 digit display on mobo, as a troubleshooting tool
- Warranty - register within 30 days and you will get the lifetime warranty on this mobo.
Otherwise it is only 2 years.
- Advanced RMA options:
NOTE: When you register this mobo at EVGA, you get ONE OPPORTUNITY to upgrade to an "Advanced RMA" program.
If you pass on it during registration, you will NOT get a second chance to order the advanced RMA option.

If you think you'll need expedited service for any possible RMA, then even the most expensive option, $39.99, is not bad.
CONS:
- Requires an EPS 12volt (8-pin) power adapter, in addition to the standard 24-pin ATX.
If you plan to use an EXISTING POWER SUPPLY, make sure it has an EPS power connector.
The EPS 8-pin looks "similar" to the PCI-e 8-pin but is KEYED DIFFERENTLY.
You can buy a "Molex-to-EPS12" adapter for about $3 to $5 bucks.
NOTE: if you will be gaming with this mobo, then plan on buying a new power supply.
EVGA did NOT include the molex-to-EPS adapter, because it seems they don't want you to use a non-EPS power supply.
So if your power supply is a couple/few years old, plan on buying a new one.

Here in California my ambient temps get hotter than preferred in the Gaming world and having a northbridge blow down directly on my GPU does not help me keep those big ovens cool.
Why cant EVGA figure out a way to vent it outside of the case?

(More customer reviews)
This motherboard is beautiful and amazing. Containing the same features as the x58 Classified motherboards, this is a potent device. Used as a replacement for another motherboard in a p55 system and it has performed flawlessly. Over-clocking is extremely easy - i5 760 to 4.2 on air with no stability problems on first attempt; fine tuning: 1.185 volt to cpu, 1.2 imc, 1.65 dimm, and 1.975 PLL are overall very low for the speed gained. The end result is an overclocked i5-760 running almost almost as cool as stock speeds under 100% load.
Compared to the old board it replaced, I measured a 9.5% performance gain with 3dMark in 3D rendering that I can attribute only to the dedicated 2-way SLI this board can offer with 16x performance (I replaced nothing else in the computer).
I only have three complaints. If you use an air-cooled video card that is long in the upper-most PCI-e x16 slot, it ends up directly over the p55 chipset heat-sink. It will be five to almost ten degrees warmer under idle conditions compared to a card installed immediately below it. Water cooling the video card negates this issue, but, it also means that water cooling the p55 chipset at the same time is impossible. Not that you have to do it anyway - it is plenty cool. But, using the lower PCI-E configurations would be recommended to keep heat down on the video cards.
My second complaint is about the location of the on-board BIOS/POST LED panel. It is directly in line with the second PCI-E x16 slot, thus long graphics cards will cover it. Again, the use of a water cooling block on the graphics card reduces the problem, but does not remove it entirely.
Finally, the cost of this board without any rebate or sale price is prohibitive for a cost-effective LGA-1156 build. But, with rebates/sales, you may be able to get it for little more than comparable p55 motherboards.
I am pleased to give this board extremely high marks and recommending it to anyone looking for a performance p55 motherboard.

First of all, we all know this is one powerful card and it's up there with the high-end cards, but before you get too excited about getting this...
MAKE SURE OF THE FOLLOWING:
--------------------------
1. This card is huge, and I don't mean the days of how high-end AGP cards looked like (it's getting pretty ridiculous - makes cards like the 8800GT size look normal and everything else tiny), so make sure you have at least 9.5 inches diameter of clear space in your case.
* Most importantly, if your SATA ports are directly near, or right underneath, the PCI Express 16 slot -- with the ports facing towards you (looking at it from the front body/face of the motherboard) -- then most likely, this huge card will block your SATA ports! I had to forfeit two SATA ports for this card; I'll have to upgrade to a better motherboard, that is designed for big cards like this, if I want to add more SATA devices.
However, if you already have a really good motherboard, that was actually built with large graphics cards in mind (such as the EVGA X58 SLI Mainboard, then you shouldn't have a problem, since the SATA ports would then be facing towards the side direction (towards the right of the motherboard) away from the PCI Express slots.
2. Make sure you have enough wattage on your power supply! NVIDIA recommends a minimum of 550W with 38A on the 12+v line. You can probably get away with a good 500W power supply, depending on what other components you have (use a power supply calculator), but it'll be cutting it close.
3. The card requires TWO 6-pin power connectors to be powered. (The GTX 480 requires an 8-pin and a 6-pin) If your power supply only has one 6-pin power, this card comes with two PCI Express 6-Pin to Dual 4-Pin Molex connectors.
--------------------------
I was a bit worried of claims about the fan being really loud, but I did not find that to be the case.
I'm using EVGA's Precision utility to monitor the card.
When idle, the fan speed stays at 40% and is around 43C stable.
When playing StarCraft 2 (heavy playing/max settings at 1920x1080 - seems to only be using 50% of the GPU power)
the fan speed rises slightly to: 45%
temperatures rise to about: 70-75C (using stock fan and side panel 80mm fan)
The temperatures definitely do get up there. NVIDIA claims this card can still run max to 105C!
--------------------------
In comparison with the GTX480: (First number is for GTX 470; Second number/higher number is for the GTX480)
--------------------------
CUDA Cores: 448 vs 480
GPU clockspeed: 607 vs 700 (MHz)
Processor clockspeed: 1215 vs 1401 (MHz)
Memory clock: 1674 vs 1848 (MHz)
Memory size: GDDR5 1280 MB vs 1536 MB
Memory interface 320-bit vs 384-bit
--------------------------
Considering cost/performance, I would stick with the GTX470 over the 480. I've switched betwen ATI/NVIDIA back and forth, and so far I've ended up with NVIDIA. Mainly, I needed the CUDA cores to take advantage of CS5 Premiere's Mercury Engine (more CUDA cores the better, and at least 756MB memory and above is required to use that engine); it works great after a really simple hack. Also, I like that NVIDIA has better drivers and the card actually scales correctly on my HDTV - my ATI card has a problem with this. Lately, I've been more impressed with NVIDIA's presentation and innovations. The card has a mini-HDMI out, and the package includes a mini-HDMi to HDMI cable, as well as VGA-DVI. The EVGA GTX470 is one nice looking card as well (they have the best skin). EVGA has become one of my favorite manufactures of NVIDIA cards (#1 seller in US), not some generic unknown company, and this card has a lifetime warranty after registering within 30 days or purchase. This card is future proof with DirectX11 with tessellation capabilities.
I bought my GTX 470 in July 2010 and it came with standard brackets. EVGA later released a "High Flow Bracket", which has a little bit more opening, claiming it would reduce up to 5 degrees lower temperature (however, most buyers have claimed less) -- it makes you wonder why they didn't simply make the brackets that way in the first place? (smaller hole - less heat gets out; wider opening - more airflow. Duh?) It's really silly and nothing really amazing when you look at the "High Flow Bracket" design. Although EVGA states the bracket is "free of charge", for buyers registering their product (until the end of August), they still charge $5 to ship a small piece of metal; might as well be saying the bracket is $5 and they'll ship it free! (they actually sell it for $10 and free shipping under their accessories shopping page).
Personally, I think that is a silly "upgrade" and more of a profit gain gimmick by EVGA. Also, this card does not have a backplate (it's not necessary, but it adds a better overall look to the card and safety, by not having the PCB exposed on the other side. Now, it probably would be worth the Free-but-$5 shipping if they included the backplate as well. I believe the GTX 470 SuperClocked Edition comes with the backplate and bracket already installed, but it's an additional accessory that one would have to purchase separately for this standard GTX 470 (EVGA sells it for $19.99 under accessories - no, thanks). If EVGA is listening, they should provide the bracket and backplate to GTX 470 owners free of charge (without ridiculous shipping fees) - now, that would be amazing customer support.

Pros: After much debate, I decided this would be the card to replace my trusty ATI 5770. While the 5770 was a good well-built card, this thing is a major step up. I went from a 128-bit bus with a bandwidth of about 75 GB/s to this card with a 256-bit bus and, with the factory overclocks, a bandwidth of 134.8 GB/s! And I haven't even tried overclocking it myself yet. All my games are maxed out, or at least close. I play Bad Company 2 at 1920 x 1080 with Advanced visual settings, all DX11 features on, and 4x AA and getting at least 60 FPS. (This according to FRAPS.. and my monitor's refresh rate is capped at 60 FPS) The card is also quiet... no louder than the whisper-quiet 5770 it replaced. It's good to be back to Nvidia. My ATI card was great with solid and mature drivers, but I always felt Nvidia has their stuff together better on that front.
Cons: Not much at all. This card is obviously high quality. I did notice that it gets a little warm. After only 30 mins of playing BC2, temps were up to around 63 C, and I have a large very well-ventilated case. But I suppose that's to be expected with the factory overclocking, so it is what it is.
Other Thoughts: I think this card hits that sweet spot for upper-midrange performance on a budget. I picked this up for $250 even on sale with free shipping, so the value is non-debatable. Of course there are people who say "a GTX 570 is better". Well of course it is. That's why its a GTX 570 and this is a 560. Still, this card crushes most games and normally costs $100 less. And no, you can't play Crysis or Metro 2033 maxed out... but not many cards can. And stop me if I'm wrong, but as technically impressive as the above games are, they just aren't that GOOD. They score sky-high on visuals and technical prowess, but not so much on originality or fun. And even if you DO like these games, this card can run them just fine.. not maxed out, but more than playable while looking good. This card is solid.

Being and advanced computer user I found it really easy to install without any instructions (although I imagine you could easily do this with the included instructions). I put it in place of my 285GTX. Installed the 8-pin and 6-pin Cables from by power supply. Connected my computer monitor to it, powered up my computer, installed the lasted drivers off NVidia's website, and was on my way without any problems at all. I even have this hooked up to my computer monitor with an HDMI 1.4a cable (not that I need it since my monitor doesn't do 3D, but I got it on sale for [...] bucks.)
One of the things that I have noticed is that it runs cooler and quieter in my computer case than my old 285GTX. I have a thermometer on my case so I can monitor the temperature at any time. My case is now 5-7 degrees (F) cooler. This is a nice improvement if heat is a problem for you.
I don't have any games on my computer that use a lot of direct X 11 features. I was however able to run "Lord of the Rings Online" at my computer's max resolution (1920x1200@60hz) using direct X 11 mode with everything turned on without any noticeable slowdown other than lag caused by my connection (cable Modem service where I am is iffy sometimes.) It also plays every modern game I have such as Call of Duty Black OPS and Medal of Honor with everything turned on, without any slow down at all. Even while playing multiplayer in both games. While performance will probably vary from system to system, this is the fastest graphics card I have used so far. I will post an update how it plays with other new games I just happen to buy. If you want benchmark testing results you can just Google "580 GTX reviews". There are a ton of them and since I only own one card I cannot tell you how it is using SLI.
While this graphics card is expensive, it is currently the fastest single graphics card you can buy without an SLI/Crossfire solution and if the price is not a killer for you, then I highly recommend this card. It is a quieter and cooler running graphics card than previous generations of cards (by NVidia) and handles just about anything you can throw at it. Hope this helps.

I recently traded in my ATI HD 5870 for this card from nVidia. The reason for the change? I had my last straw with the ATI drivers. The ATI drivers are slow, big and buggy. It seems like every other version of the drivers had some major issue that didn't allow me to use them. I would always keep a running history of drivers and track which ones were acceptable for which purpose. Needless to say, I was sick of it and decided to give nVidia a try.
Not surprisingly, this new nVidia GTX 570 was slightly faster than the ATI HD 5870. The driver download and installation was a breeze. Not only did the drivers work well, but the website also worked (something that ATI can't seem to get right). The website easy to use and remembers what card I selected previously (nice touch). The driver installer is clean, fast, easy to use and doesn't install any game demos like the ATI drivers.
The nVidia control panel is also much easier to use than the ATI Catalyst Control Center. Things are clearly labeled and interactions are simple and make sense. Very refreshing after having struggled through the very poorly designed ATI CCC for the past 1.5 years. You can also setup rule based policies that allow you to change settings automatically when certain criteria are met (very snazzy).
There are a few bugs though. Nothing as catastrophic as what I experienced with ATI, but bugs none-the-less. Certain games like Mass Effect 2 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, are not able to enable Anti-Aliasing. I've researched the problem and at the moment(2-16-2010) there just isn't any way to do it. Forcing anti-aliasing in the nVidia control panel does nothing. There are applications like nHancer which allow you to override these limitations, but nHancer currently doesn't support the GTX 570. I am hoping that either nVidia or nHancer will come out with an update to fix this problem.
There is also a bug in the power management when using 2 monitors. The card/drivers are supposed to turn the clock speed down when idling, this reduces power consumption and heat. This doesn't work when 2 or more monitors are connected. The card constantly runs at 100% power and idles hot at around 56 celsius. If one of the monitors are unplugged/deactivated, the temperature will drop to around 43 celsius. According to the nVidia forums, this shouldn't happen if both monitors are running at the same resolution and sync speed, which mine are. One other solution is to use a second video card, which I might do eventually when I go SLI.
Overall, this card, hands down, is worlds better than the ATI HD 5870. Faster, better drivers, better support in games with physics hardware acceleration support and 3D. With the dual monitor bug, the card does run hotter and consume more power than my ATI did, but I am hoping this and the anti-aliasing bug will be fixed soon. The PNY version of the card works great and is one of the cheapest versions of the GTX 570. I highly recommend it.
