For a 32" TV in the upper price range, I expected Sony (which usually makes excellent sets) to use either an IPS or PVA panel. This particular model does not. Sony recently shifted panels on this model and the 46EX710 to MVA panels from AUO. While the image is sharp and colors are good, there is major contrast shifting when viewing the set from a slightly off angle. While not nearly as bad as cheap TN panels (which shift both color and contrast) this is not a good trait to have, especially when IPS and PVA both offer far better viewing angle consistency.
When viewed dead on it's actually a really good set. But when viewed from a slight angle, expect noticable change in contrast. Fair warning for you picky people like myself.
I planned to use this as a PC monitor, but sitting a few feet away, you begin to notice inconsistancies in the corners simply because the corners are at fairly deep angles to your eyes. I have not had this problem with larger IPS and PVA TV sets.
