Mushkin Enhanced Callisto Deluxe 120 GB Solid State Drive MKNSSDCL120 GB-DX (Black) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I'm not going to get too deep into the numbers (you can find those online for the various iterations of the Sandforce based controllers), but let it be known that for the price, this little drive delivers a phenomenal performance boost for any laptop.
I use my laptop as a development machine and with the Callisto, it absolutely screams along. The laptop boots up to a usable browser in about 25 seconds. Visual Studio 2010 loads in under 4 seconds, even with various add-ins installed. Applications like Office 2010 and Firefox load instantly.
I store and run my virtual machines off a secondary, disk based HDD (Western Digital Scorpio Black) as the size of the SSD isn't conducive for the storage of large virtual machines. Performance is still great given that the majority of the reads/writes for the VM is done on loading/unloading of the VM (hint: not worth it to store you VMs on the SSD unless you have the $$$ to spring for the 240GB SSD).
In summary: get one and you'll never go back to disk based HDDs!

ViewSonic DVP5 Pico Pocket Projector with Camcorder Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Just picked this up as a gift for my Dad, pretty impressed, it will fit his needs for sure. At first I picked up the 3M CP40 which looks identical from the outside. But don't be fooled, the Viewsonic offers a bit more and for not much more. Key differences:
1. Viewsonic can project from a laptop via USB, 3M cannot.
2. Viewsonic comes with a remote, 3M does not.
Connecting to a device is simple, even from USB, just install the driver and it's ready to go. For another $14 if you buy from Amazon, definitely worth the difference. I haven't played too much with it but I wanted to test the features out so that I could help my Dad out in case he had questions. Projection comes out pretty clear although it plays video that you take with the device much smoother than if you project from a laptop. Tested with a DVD player, seems to play just fine.
Only con seems like if you do project a laptop from the USB, it seems to still run off battery power, would be nice if it kept the device charged while projecting (charges via USB while powered off, or when you uise it in Disk mode). You can however keep it charged projecting videos you took with it or whatever you connect using the composite cables. Overall pretty cool and I bet it will drop in price, dropped $40 or so since I first heard about it.

SquareTrade 4-Year Laptop Warranty ($2000-2500 Items) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have purchased squaretrade warrenties on 2 older laptops that I purchased on Ebay -- Both had harddrives that didn't last the full year. Square trade was fast and fair on settling my claims. Now I have decided to put more money toward a good NEW laptop and I declined the store extended warrenty in favor of another square trade warrenty. Highly recommend this service.

Polk Audio LC65fx - Surround channel speakers - 2-way - white Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I am using these for all four of the surround speakers in my home theater. Very nice sound, but a little on the expensive side when you are doing 7.1 surround. If they retailed a bit cheaper that would help, but if you want a awesome surround and money isn't a show stopped go get them...

Intel Xeon E5420 2.5 GHz 12M L2 Cache 1333MHz FSB LGA771 Active Quad-Core Processor Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This CPU is extraordinarily fast and runs fabulously, but the active heatsink that it is packaged with is terrible. It would not screw down properly onto the motherboard mounting apparatus resulting in poor heat conductivity. As a result I was forced to purchase a supermicro product (SNK-P0020A4), which worked fabulously.

Asus K52f rbr9 15.6" Widescreen Notebook Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I had gotten a Dell Inspiron 1545 in July, and have had nothing but problems. First the JavaScript didn't work, and their tech support said software support costs extra, like over 200 bucks! Then last week the DVD player broke..
This Asus computer has the i3 chip and is already very user freindly. No messing with bad tech service, Java works great, DVD player is more sturdy, and a much better value.

Transcend 128 GB 1.8 Inch External Solid State Drive (SSD) TS128GSSD18M-M Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a great little drive. It is significantly faster than the current 64GB flash drives and has twice the space. It is small enough to fit easily in your pocket. It requires either 2 USB ports, or 1 eSATA and 1 USB port, because it draws power from one USB port and transfers data using the other port (Comes with 2 y-cables, one for USB only, the other for eSATA/USB). Mine worked perfectly right out of the box. I liked the first one so much, I bought a 2nd one to use as an off-site backup for my home computers. The only reason I gave this product only 4 stars is because it is currently quite pricey.
