They contacted the carrier (FedEx) who promptly picked up the item. I received a replacement rack in a few days. This is a company that I would do business with time and time again. (More customer reviews)Bought this external drive a month ago, since I wanted to keep my current internal DVD drive. This LG BE08LU20 has worked flawlessly and produced perfect BD discs. I've burned and erased about 10 times with BD-RE discs and have burned 3 BD-R discs. Each one turned out perfectly - no coasters.
I've used quality blank discs - Verbatim BD-R and BD-RE. I can't speak for other brands, but reviews I've read indicate Verbatim has fewer problems.
The USB connect is great if you have no ESATA external outlet. But it's much slower than using ESATA. USB burns at 480 mb/s. ESATA burns at 1.5 gb/s -- around 3 times faster. Significantly, LG includes an external ESATA bracket, with a cable, so you can easily create an external ESATA outlet (assuming your computer has an open ESATA connect on the motherboard and an available slot in the back). The bracket is the typical large size, so if you have a smaller computer, like the Dell Inspiron, you'll need to order a "low profile" ESATA bracket.
It's a beautiful device and looks good, sitting next to your computer. It's easily set up. I had it up and running in about 5 minutes, and it's worked perfectly, from the beginning.

Klipsch iFi Speaker System for iPod Review

(More customer reviews)The Klipsch iFi is everything an audiophile could ask for in a self-powered 2.1 $400 dollar system. Compatibility with the iPod is a merely a bonus!
I would like to respond to the previous user's review as it is honorable, but innocently false.
I also own the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's and the Klipsch iFi's, but I'm not sure why the previous user had such a difficult time getting his iFi to sound/image better than his Promedias, so let met male this clear: In no way shape or form is the Promedia 2.1 speaker system even remotely close to the quality, finesse and craftsmanship of the Klipsch iFi. The iFi achieves a far higher level of sound clarity and precision, while being more efficient, effective and exquisite. Klipsch tested the iFi to be almost three times louder at the respective maximum SPL while even maintaining a higher discipline of distortion than the Promedias 2.1's. Yes, three times louder with better sound quality. This does not even put them in the same category. That fact alone can whole heartily explain the price difference between them, but allow me to elaborate even further. The iFi's own RSX-3 satellite speakres provide much more impact and fuller and deeper midrange from a stronger, bigger and more capable aluminum driver. The 2.1's sats use a paper cone driver which is smaller and weaker and is held to the baffle with a cheap foam surround. The iFi employs a better, more elaborate titanium horn loaded tweeter that delivers far more sound with greater accuracy than the cheap plastic ones on the 2.1's. The RSX's are far more sophisticated speakers and deliver a sound that is sonically superior and louder than the proimedia satellites. I'm sorry to undermine the previous reviewer, but he is simply wrong.
The subwoofer even divides these two systems further. The 2.1's use a smaller 6.5" woofer with less power in a small enclosure that lacks both depth and proper porting as it emits gobs of port flutter when being pushed hard. The ifi `s subwoofer is a true beast with a full 10Hz lower frequency range, higher SPL, and far less distortion. Please don't get me wrong, the Klispch 2.1's are great speakers and that's exactly why the iFi is also a great system. Because it simply doest just offer the same experience with the addition of an iPod dock for three times the money. It offers you three times the sound quality and, conveniently has an iPod dock. I should also indicate that the remote, while slightly clumsy and small, is the best iPod speaker remote available do to its range.
I would not trade four promedia 2.1 sets for my iFi's
Here are pictures so you can clearly see I have both systems. You can also see the size difference of the subwoofer and the quality difference of the speakers.
Make no mistake, the iFi's trounce the Promeida 2.1's.

(More customer reviews)This watercooling system is perfect for the gamer who is thinking about an alternative method of cooling, while keeping sound down to a minimum, and adding a touch of charisma to your gaming rig. The radiator size (120mmx2) can easily accomodate additions to the loop, like a northbridge cooler, or a video card cooler; maybe even 2 video card coolers. However, you may want to invest in some extra tubing of the same diameter, and some extra fittings.
I suggest aluminum barb fittings for this type of tubing, because if you have to disconnect it for any reason, the plastic doesnt play nice, and you risk damaging the plastic. Also, invest in a larger reservoir if you plan on cooling more components, and maybe some high grade coolant.
BE ADVISED: AUTOMOTIVE RADIATOR FLUID DOES WORK, BUT MIXING IT WITH OTHER ADDITIVES IS NOT SMART. YOU CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR RIG BECAUSE OF THE HEAT EXCHANGE AND CAN CAUSE SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION. KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING AND DO RESEARCH.
Oh, and another thing...this is essential for overclocking your processor. I've seen high speeds reached on air cooling, and with the proper parameters, this is the next logical step. ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: OVERCLOCKING VOIDS WARRANTIES. DON'T TRY TO OVERCLOCK YOUR DELL, AND IF YOU OVERCLOCK YOUR INTEL EXTREME EDITION CPU, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU FRY IT. With that said, i reached 4.4Ghz using an Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition CPU. By special order, you can get the 1366 bracket for this kit if it didnt come in the package. There definitely a lot of cooling power.
My only peeve is that the Reservoir is too small. I'm going to upgrade my reservoir in a couple months when i add a couple more cooling blocks to the loop.
All in all, good kit. No one should be disappointed, and the price is good for a kit that could get you started on building/upgrading your watercooling system.

(More customer reviews)This accessory disables the internal mic. On other panasonics, you can switch the internal mic/external mic. This was compounded for me because once the unit was connected via the screw in connector, it won't come out. I've tried many things, and may have to send the camera in for service.
This said, the sound is great and the unit is well made. If the connector came out more easily, it would be OK to pull the connector when you wanted to use the internal mic.

(More customer reviews)I have two of these CPUs on an Intel S5000Xvn motherboard and they are BEASTS! I get about 25,000 points a day at World Community Grid folding@home. I can have two or three modern PC games open at once and easily alt-tab between them in just a couple seconds, literally. The CPU usage will run about 40% with Batman, Bioshock 2, and Left 4 Dead 2 open all at once with absolutely ZERO stuttering. The CPU headroom is just insane. I recommend getting a dual-socket board so you can add a SECOND one if you desire in the future. Also, utilize all the memory slots because this beast has QUAD CHANNEL memory!

(More customer reviews)I've owned this for three years now and its been super. From short jobs (5 or so) to large jobs (1000), this unit has never let me down. The bin takes about 25 discs at a pop. Helpful hint - when the disc is finished burning and the arm drops the disc into the "done" bin, keep the piece of plastic where the disc slides down coated with wax paper. Certain discs tend to stick a bit.

It is a glorious improvement over having to copy discs one by one on various computers. However, for copying 3 Gb DVDs, the speed setting needs to be turned down to 12x, otherwise a failure rate as high as 1 out of 6 may occur. To adjust burn speed and set up automatic verification and other useful functions, you will probably need the manual. The manual comes on a CD. Find the pdf file for the manual and print it out! Mess with the control panel until you get into Expert Mode. Function 11 under expert mode is Set-Up. Under function 11, you have many options for adjusting the burn rates for DVDs, CDs, and setting up verification features to reduce the chance of having bad copies. The good news is that once the settings have been properly fixed, the device remembers them after being turned off, so next time you can just turn it on and go. The manual makes sense to engineers and computer nerds, but with patience, if you can operate a TV remote control or a microwave oven, you should be able to figure it out. I would have rated this item a 5 if the manual were easier to understand.

1. FAST!!! Everything loads FAST!
Done major research before buying it. In most benchmarks, overall Vertex 2 performs faster than most other 3Gbps SSD's, Sandforce or not, including X25-E, Pro V, S592, Falcon II, Torqx M28, F80. It is also definitely faster than two Velociraptors in Raid-0 configuration as another reviewer mentioned (and probably any other RPM HHD configuration out there). The Crucial RealSSD C300 6Gbps may be the only SSD that has faster overall Read speeds (mostly because of the 6Gbps), but the Vertex 2 actually trumps the C300 in many Write tests on an Intel ICH SATA 3G port, which is the mainstream for today's motherboards. Plus the price per Gb is not even comparable... In some tests the Vertex 2 is actually faster than two Corsair F80 SSD's in Raid 0.2. Installation. No cables, screws, or anything else comes with the SSD, except for a two-page installation manual.
Installing the SSD was a breeze in my Antec 1200 case. It requires 4 screws (provided with the case). I used a 6Gb SATA cable to connect it to one of the 8 SATA-2 ports on my ASUS P6X58D-E board (cable provided with the motherboard).
Uses a SATA power connection to the PSU (cable provided with PSU)3. Size. This is important to consider because you are not actually getting the whole 180 GB!
After installing and booting up, the BIOS showed 167.7 GB available.
Actual usable size is never same as advertised. I personally think that's false advertising, because even if the physical memory size of the drive is 180Gb, the manufacturers know we lose a fraction of that because of system overhead. What matters is the actual available space. I hope that one day manufacturers and retailers will stop misleading customers, because when we shop for gigabytes, it is IMPLIED that they have to be USABLE!
WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT SOME THEORETICAL SIZE, BUT WHAT WE CAN ACTUALLY USE !!! This is a message to both OCZ and AMAZON.
Most manufacturers do provide some sort of disclaimer (small font, bottom of the page) on their websites, but obviously most non-tech customers aren't even AWARE of this issue in order to go check it out. It should be the retailer's responsibility, in this case Amazon, to provide this sort of info in the Technical Details section. How about that?
After installing Windows 7 Ultimate w/ latest updates for December 2010, I had 137 GB available! So 40+ GB are gone right off the bat. It doesn't sound good, but that's always the case with any drive with Win 7 on it. No way around it.4. The drive came with pre-installed firmware version 1.27 as reported by CrystalDiskInfo. This is weird because the latest FW available for download on the OCZ website, as of Jan. 2010, is v1.24 which was released in November 2010. I don't know what to make of this, but anyhow.
5. Low power consumption. Quiet. Lightweight. Slick and beautiful to look at (not that you'll be seeing much of it after you install it)
6. 3.5-inch SSD's are cheaper than the 2.5-inch. Props to OCZ for being the ONLY manufacturer to make 3.5 inch SSD's. This is perfect for people who need a SSD for the desktop, with no plans to transfer it later to a laptop.
7. My 2TB 7200RPM Western Digital remains as my data drive. It is not recommended to use the SSD as a backup/data drive, because excessive reading/writing will reduce it's life expectancy. Yes, SSD's have a certain life expectancy, because every block of flash memory can be overwritten a certain number of times. Nowadays that's less of a problem, but still, SSD should ideally be used as a system drive only. So, any heavy downloading or copying of large files goes to my HDD.
Up until I installed the SSD, my HDD was bottlenecking my system. The 7200 rpm was holding back my Intel Core i7-980X Extreme (water) / ASUS P6X58D-E / 12GB OCZ PC3 12800 / 1000watt Antec TruePower Quattro / EVGA GeForce GTX480 SC. Now everything is as smooth as a baby's.... forehead.

(More customer reviews)This is well worth the money .This flash is a huge improvement over the HVL-F36AM it recycles really fast no wait. I can light up a 15 foot room with one of these.Try putting a gary fong or Stoffen diffuser on this it will even your light out and spread it around the room. A Bare bulb only fires straight forward only filling the forward portion of the room .
On some of these reviews when they say this is a weak flash are uninformed and unaware of their equipments potential.If you buy any flash and use only the bare flash firing forward it will not fill a room it will fire straight forward the way it was intended to do.You will see some idiots fire a bare flash at peoples faces and wonder why it doesn't work .
Try bouncing it off the ceiling preferably a white one a green ceiling will turn everyone into green people aliens.
And also invest in a diffuser or umbrella for it a stoofen or gary fong or a 1 dollar frosted tupperware bowl and cut a hole in it . . Or get a 24x24 softbox and soften it up a bit.
In WL mode it does have to be in line sight with the camera and it is very reliable .(Hint for newbies put the flash on the camera power on camera. Turn on flash head .Select menu on camera go to flash select wireless. Remove flash head from camera then flip camera flash up you are now in wireless mode) ( you can also just push the WL button on the back of the flash and select wireless flash in the camera menu , then flip up the camera flash and you are in wireless mode.
I use two of these and they do everthing that I need them to do and then some .I use only one with a 60" soft white umbrella and get everything I need from that. I will use two on large groups of people 8 or more ... well worth the money I would buy again if needed .
...Highly recomended You can get a hvl-56AM or Hvl-58AM which are more powerful but the 56 is discontinued and don't support white balance mode and the 58 is very expensive but worth every penny (plus the HVL-F58AM will control this flash and fire a flash off the camera at the same time no annoying pre-flash ...The TTL is very nice also ...I chose this over the Sigma after long researching . I get mixed reviews from people using sigmas saying some work great and some don't .
I just wanted it to do what it is supposed to do with no hassels and this is why I chose these flashes and glad I did. I also just ordered the HVL-F58AM I will have two 42's and a 58...I will update later..
I am updating this I have been using the HVL-58AM all can say is what a flash it is powerful and controls the all the 42's I love them all 42's and 58..
I now have 4 HVL-F42AM's and a HVL-F58AM the F58 can fire all these or you can use Radio triggers like the RF-602 canon or Nikon sets with a SC-6 adapter and a FS-1100 adapter for the camera .. The HVL-F42AM have to be mounted on camera to fire Radio triggers just disable the standby mode so they don't go to sleep in 3 minutes or extend it..
I want to tell you that you will see bad reviews from people lacking skills the tools are only as good as the photographer ..A good photographer learns how to use and make the best out of his equipment a bad photographer complains about the equipment ..
You can buy any camera you want in a DSLR it will not make you a better photographer learn to master what you have GO to [...] and find strobist and learn lighting skills 101
