(More customer reviews)This case's internal protective mold was created precisely for the non-unibody (the one before the 10/2008 version of unibody) 17" MacBook Pro. There is a pocket that can accommodate the 85W (or smaller) power supply snugly (but coil your cables carefully, as the new DC cable material has a mind of its own).
There are spaces for the following:
two pens (next to the power-supply pocket)
file folders/magazines (two pockets located up the upper clamshell)
pocket for a few optical discs (stored in paper sleeves)
business cards
With the case empty, I have carried a 17" MacBook Pro and a 15.4" MacBook Pro on the top lid without any problem.
It may be a bit heavy, but if protection is what you want for your valuable equipment, this is the answer.
