I'm a programmer, so I look for anything that helps me code faster. Turns out it did not take as long as I expected to get used to. For the first few days my hand wanted to instinctively grab for the mouse, but that soon went away, and now I just love how my hands can stay in the same position for typing and mousing. I DO believe I am more efficient now (but I can't proove it).
One thing that I feel makes it more efficient is that the roller bar allows you to "flick" the mouse around the screen much faster than I could with a regular mouse, and you can scroll without your fingers ever leaving the keyboard. Okay, this sounds a lot like how a laptop works, and it sort of is, but the rollermouse is still more advanced, and its the only alternative for a mouse attached to a desktop PC that I've found.
I also love that all the buttons are programmable, but you absolutely need the downloadable software to customize it (I'm surprised this didn't come on a CD with the product already). There are actually TWO different software programs that do this, a basic and advanced version. After much Googling I finally found them here: http://www.contour-design.com/Default.aspx?ID=1126
What's confusing is that the http://www.contourdesign.com site is different from the http://www.contour-design.com site. The latter is the only one that offers the advanced software.
If you want the RollerMouse scroll wheel to scroll more than 1 line at a time, you have to get the ADVANCED software. None of my default drivers could be made to adjust the wheel, so was thrilled when I finally found that download.
Also, don't buy RollerMouse from Amazon or anywhere else. The cheapest at $199 was direct from here: http://www.rollermousepro.com/
The only other downsides besides having to hunt for the right software are 1) I wish it came with some built-in USB connections, otherwise, it might as be wireless!, 2) you need to use it with a keyboard that has an absolutely straight bottom edge otherwise the rollermouse sits too far away from your fingers, 3) the price: $199 is really expenisive for this product. Should be under $100.
I think if more people used this product the mouse would become a thing of the past! Give it a week and you won't go back.

It only took me one week of solid use to get used to this board. Now, after three weeks on it, my hands don't hurt on it and I can type all day and all night with no pain.
I like the quick switch between platforms just by keying in two keys and overall I like the feel of this board. There ase some issues with the mechanical key mechanisms that are used in this board.
I have only been using this board for three weeks and already I have had sticking keys. Now, whether it is mechanial or electrical is not yet know. However, rumor has it that it is electrical. The up motion or release of the key is not detected thus creating a repeat condition.
That is the first issue. THe second is that the space and enter keys are binding and do not go down without some gusto. The reason being is the leverage on the mechanism (due to the oversized keys) causes the keyswitch to bind. If the key were shorter and more over the center of the keyswitch, this would not ocurr. THis is a design issue that should be addressed.
I gave this item a four star rating as it took all my pain away. I use it at home and I bring it to work as well as I can't type on a regular board anymore once I became used to this one.
THe back space button is also a pain being on one side. I think it would have been better to have two for both left and right..but, the good news is that if you remap the backspace key to a space and then map the backspace key to the other CTL, this solves that issue. Due to the layout, some commands and shorcuts are hard to execute without mapping. SO, be sure to use the mapping feature.
Summary, while it may not be a Maltron, (the UK original version with premo key switches) this board is pretty good. I do think that for what they charge for these things that they should have used much a better keyswitch mechanism that doesn't repeat nor bind. TO me, that is unacceptable in any keyboard and is unuseable when it worsens. Good thing they have a good warranty.

First Touchscreen - occasionally it takes a couple tries to get touch response.
buy screen wipes , you have finger oil and this is one big black mirror
we got this to replace a cluttered noisy desktop, it has no fans = no noise and is very compact, and at 1920x1080 true HD for the 23" screen, its very productive workspace, very fast.
Problem... It makes such a good media center that there is family competition to use it. It seems to work wireless "n" speeds so Netflix and hulu are stutter-free prefect, its bigger than the kitchen TV. Someone is always using it.
at 1200 bucks it was 2/3 the cost of the system it replaced.
my advice: buy 2 of them.
edit update - we just ordered #2 since the first one never left the Kitchen & Livingroom area, where it will likely live out its useful days so Dads that buy it, set your expectations - Recipies, Netflix, Hulu, Email and facebook, and skype 2 way video ( hi mom! ) youteube, ABC full length shows and Vevo ( Vevo looks amazing ) will rule along with the touch screen magazine catalogs and lookbooks at ctndigital. youtube of this touchsmart doing amazing things in flash [...] it wont be much used for real computing - its all family entertainment.
