Sony BRAVIA KDL32EX40B 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Built-In Blu-ray Disc Player Review

I was looking to buy an LCD TV for past 1 year and specifically want Internet content. It paid off with SONY KDL32EX40B. It has internet content, it has Blu Ray player, excellent menu design, easy to operate, all in one functionalities.I ordered immediately and I got TV 3 days ago. It has easy quick setup guide. The remote control is easy to type for internet use and the manual is very user friendly to look for specific information. With this TV, there is no need for seperate box of DVD/BD players and couple of remotes to operate.
The TV switched on perfectly and blu ray was able to play DVD's, CD and of course Blu Ray Discs. Now its time to connect LAN cable to TV. Here started the trouble. The TV just got hanged when I turn it OFF and turn it ON back again because of Internet connectivity. when i disconnected the LAN cable, it works fine, but freezes when connected to Internet.I called Sony Customer Care and they asked to reset the TV to Factory settings. But still no use. so they sent a new replacement TV. To my frustation, this TV also came up with same issue. When i called customer care, they escalated to Product support specialist and they assisted to DOWNLOAD new FIRMWARE and installed it to TV. Awesome, it works now !!

TV's which are manufactured before June 18th (Sony released new firmware for this TV - [...]) have this problem of freeze and reboot by itself.
I am bit disappointed with Sony, if it has released firmware for particular model then why it hasn't updated at the time of shipping or atleast it should advised when i called for Sony customer care for first time rather than sending replacement TV.
I am enjoying this TV with all internet content fully loaded and its an amazing piece if you have home theatre system too.at Glance:
PROS : Integrated Blu Ray Player, Internet Content (youtube, netflix, quirocity etc..,)
CONS : Software initialization (internet content & Home menu) takes some time (15-30 seconds to load) when Turn it ON..but its not an issue anyway.

Sony BRAVIA EX 400 Series 32-Inch LCD TV, Black Review

Sony BRAVIA EX 400 Series 32-Inch LCD TV, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Here's my simple review of this Sony TV.
General outline of features:
1080p resolution
Picture adjustments
Audio adjustments (synthetic surround sound, bass, treble)
USB device support
HDMI x4
ECO-friendly options (power save level I and II)
Ambient sensor
The picture quality is outstanding, there are numerous adjustments to make the picture look the way you want. Other adjustments include audio and settings for features. Full HD 1080p only makes it look even better. Sony advertises this TV with the "ambient" sensor that detects the lighting situation in your room so that it adjusts the backlight of the TV to compensate. I did some tests with the sensor on or off and it didn't make that much of a difference but the ambient sensor does work, it will decrease the backlight of the TV if you're in a dark room (or at night) and increase it if the room is lit up. Features also included with this TV is the ability to play music, photos and videos from a USB device which is great but I don't see myself using it. The thing that stands out with this TV set is its design. It looks like a piece of art once you remove the packaging materials. There are an influx of ports and connections on the rear and side. Component, composite, HDMI, Audio, VGA, you name it, it will have most likely have it.
My only two minor gripes about this TV is that the tuning is responsiveness of the TV's menu and tuning is fairly slow. It's not slow to the point where it bothers you but I'd say from the moment you push the channel up button on the remote until the time it actually displays the picture is around 2-3 seconds. It's not bad but its a minor gripe of mines. Another gripe I have about this TV is the price. It's certainly on the costly side for this class of TV but I believe it makes up for it in the design aspect. So if you're willing to spend a little more money to get a TV that actually looks great, this TV is a good choice.
Overall, this TV is great for the person who is willing to spend a little more money to get something that looks great without sacrificing picture quality.

Tenba RS-D30 634-713 Aircase for 30-Inch Cinema Display (Black)
Average Reviews:

I love choices. But if you want to ship a 30" cinema display, as far as I could tell, this was it. And it is not inexpensive! But what an excellent case. The outer is tough, the hard inner shell is strong enough for a baggage handler to jig on and the interior holds the monitor snug and scratch free. I would like to of had closed pouches instead of open ended dividers to hold the cables. I wish it weighed less. It is right at 50 lbs when loaded. To close for airline scales. And it is slightly oversize. The airline allowed it but they could of hit me for big bucks.
It arrived after along international flight with transfers looking literally like new and the contents unscathed. Not bad!

Sony BRAVIA EX 400 Series 40-Inch LCD TV, Black Review

Sony BRAVIA EX 400 Series 40-Inch LCD TV, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have to say, I really like this TV. My previous LCD was a Samsung 32" 720p - and this set blows it away in almost every aspect. I think I paid around $550 for the Samsung a little over a year ago, so I jumped at the chance to upgrade to the EX400.
Pros: The ambient light sensor works terrific.
- 4 HDMI inputs! Plug away my friends.
- Bravia Sync feature works great with my Sony home theater system.
- PS3 games have never looked better. I played Killzone 2 right after I setup the TV and my jaw was open for about 10 minutes straight.
- It only has a 60Hz refresh rate, but I've yet to see any blur while watching sports.
- DVD's look fairly crisp as well, considering I have a cheap DVD up-converter.
- It's a Sony! I'm sure some ppl have had bad experiences with Sony, but I've had nothing but luck. To each his own I guess.
Cons: The remote is junk. It looks cheap and it isn't very functional.
- The grey panel on the front. I had a bigger problem with the online picture of the set than I do in person. It doesn't look THAT bad - but it still throws off the continuity of the black perimeter. Strange call by Sony.
- Calibration is frustrating. There are so many different picture settings you'll probably struggle to find the perfect setup. I used the DVD THX Optimizer (found it on one of my Star Wars movies) and it helped a lot. (I posted them on [...])
- If you're using an antenna instead of cable/satellite you'll find that channel surfing is a bit slow. This is kind of a nitpick, but the channels take a little longer to load on this set.
- No swivel? I knew this set didn't have it before I bought it - but it would still be nice.
For around $600 you can have full 1080p AND a 40" screen. Great TV - great deal.

AOC 2770VH1 27-Inch LCD Monitor Review

AOC 2770VH1 27-Inch LCD Monitor
Average Reviews:

This is a beautiful monitor for the color. The first one I got did have a stuck green pixel. Exchanged monitor and replacement is perfect. I also found that the sound wasn't working....Apparently the sound wont work if you are using HDMI. (Called Manufacturer) Don't worry though, the sound is horrible!!! I didn't buy the monitor for the sound quality anyhow. If you buy this and get black lines around the screen you will need to adjust your over scan on your video card to allow the displayed portion to reach the edges of the screen. If you do plan to use this via HDMI you will need to buy a cable as it doesn't come with one. I would definitely buy this monitor again if I needed another. AOC tech support is super friendly and easy to get a hold of too. 1-888-838-6388 USA

Panasonic VIERA TC-L37E3 37-Inch 1080p LED HDTV Review

Panasonic VIERA TC-L37E3 37-Inch 1080p LED HDTV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I researched all the flatscreen TVs in the 37-40" size category due to cabinet space requirements. Bought a Sony 40" and had to return it because my wife wouldn't let me take the doors of the furniture... Looked at Vizio due to price, performance, cabinet size, and having owned one. Did not find a model that met all the criteria. Found the outgoing Panasonic 37" model that came before this new model but it was getting hard to find at the firesale prices. I saw that the new TC-L37E3 was being release soon and put it in my basket and waited for release.
I liked that it had an ISP (In-Plane Switching panel) and the reviews of the previous model were favorable. The cabinet width was perfect at 35.1 inches. The fact that it was wi-fi ready did not matter to me since I already had an Apple Airport Express for the entertainment system and could feed a CAT5 cable directly to the TV. Have watched Netflix, Amazon VOD, listened to Pandora, all works great. The picture colors, sharpness, contrast, blacks, and viewing angle are fantastic and my wife and college age daughters have given positive comments. I only had to tweak a couple settings to get it matched to the room lighting with windows/blinds to the rear. Since it was a new model the first week out in release, my Logitech Harmony One remote did not have the canned codes available. A little training and the fact that the channels and volume are usually changed through the Cable/DVR and the A/V receiver result in no impact. I also like the optical digital out for playing internet music out to the stereo.
I am getting used the the small delays in the HDMI handshaking going on between the Motorola DVR, NAD T747 Receiver, and the TC-L37E3. Bottom line is that now that they are all hooked and set-up, they are working fine together.
Very Happy with the purchase!

Sony BRAVIA EX 500 Series 40-Inch LCD TV, Black Review

Sony BRAVIA EX 500 Series 40-Inch LCD TV, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After pretty much researching TVs to death, we purchased the Sony Bravia EX 500 and couldn't be happier. We wanted a 40" TV because it would fit nicely in our TV Armoire cabinet. I throw value into the equation, so I don't hesitate to give this 5 stars.
Highlights:
1) Crystal clear 1080p HDTV broadcast and BluRay performance.
2) The voice clarity comes through incredibly clear. I used to have to crank up the volume much higher to understand conversations on movies and TV shows.
3) The standard definition comes in much better than our old 720p HDTV, but we spend most of our time on the HDTV channels.
4) You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between this TV and those costing twice as much for the same size.
Lowlights:
1) This is minor, but I'll keep it honest. Jutter is noticeable in faster moving camera pans and action, but hardly on BluRay which has me wondering how much has to do with the frequency of the broadcast vs. the TV. We watched "Iron Man" on the BluRay and it looked great.
2) It's rated at 150k:1 contrast ratio which pales in comparison to the 2MM:1 and higher on LEDs and Plasmas.
In summary, we're very happy with the performance of the Sony Bravia EX 500. At present, I don't know if there's a better combination of price and performance. We're value conscious, so we're extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Great value, providing alternative approach to high resolution 3D display and gaming. Interlaced circular polarization display enables use of passive glasses, versus the heavier, more cumbersome active glasses associated the pending generation of 120 Hz 3D HDTVs. The display has slight left/right eye bleed-through (ghosting) with high contrast images (like stereo test images), but most current and emerging 3D display technologies have varying levels of this ghosting present. 3D images from a 3D camera like the FujiFilm W1 digital camera look great on this display. The TriDef software associated with the display includes support for almost 200 PC games. With an appropriately scaled graphics card, the dynamic response and high resolution of the display enable comfortable, truly emersive 3D gaming over extended periods of time.

Average Reviews:

I got this monitor to replace my dell 2208wfp. It was a toss up between this one and the Samsung P2770H. I chose this one because of the 1ms response time, and the greater contsrast ratio. The Samsung is 50,000:1, 1000:1...Viewsonic is 100,000:1, 1200:1. Windows 7 recognized it right away and the color out of the box was very good. You can change the Image Color Temperature so I set mine at 7500k because i like the screen to look a little darker for playing games, default is 6500k. Set up was very easy, just have to screw on the stand, no tools required, just slide the stand on and turn the screw with your fingers ( theres a little tab dealy attached to the head of the screw )and your ready to go. The stand is very sturdy, no fears of it tipping should you feel the need to slam your hands down on your desk in frustration, push youself back from the desk, or from smacking your hip/leg/foot on said desk. If you wall mount it you won't have any of these issues. But alas, i have a corner desk so no wall mounting for me. I don't use the monitors speakers so i have no comment about them. Well maybe one thing, i used the onscreen options to set them to Mute. Helpful huh? Oh also under the Manual Image Adjust theres a box to turn on Dynamic Contrasting. I turned this on and it auto sets the contrast and brightness for you. Im not one of those people who likes to mess around with every little video setting, trying to get the "perfect" picture. Color temp to 7500k, Dynamic Contrast on = awsome picture...... in my opinion. You may not like it, so feel free to go nuts playing with the color settings. Theres a Memory Recall option that will restore the factory settings should you over indulge. So far ive played some starcraft 2, mass effect 2, dragon age, and i even played some star wars battlefront 2 just to see how the old graphics looked, and ive come to the conclusion that this is a great monitor...and its Huge. I remember thinking my 22" was big when i first got it ..but this thing is really big, i love it. Every time i walk into my computer room and see it i crack a smile and say to myself, " that is a big screen" I hope this is the last monitor i will have to buy for a looooong time. I dont think id want a bigger one, and its 1080p, so im hoping theres no breakthrough in holographic tech in the next 5 -10 years. Sigh...but if there is ill buy it. So in short, great monitor for gamers. I should also mention im basing this review off using the DVI input. I will have a new gaming rig soon and will edit this review to touch on hdmi difference,if any, and how bluray movies look.
Edit: OK so Hdmi looks alot worse than Dvi. Text is fuzzy and picture is not as good. I asked the guys that i had build my new pc and they said it has something to do with the shielding within the cable. So if you run this monitor with Hdmi and dont think the picture is awsome, switch to a Dvi before getting upset. Also using Hdmi cable the picture is too large for the screen, you can barely see the bottom right corner of the recycle bin and the toolbar at the bottom is gone. You may think thats not a big deal until you try the Auto Image Adjust and find out its grayed out so you cant even adjust the screen. Yes you can go into your video card setting and resize the screen, but, just use the DVI, picture and text is way better.
Edit #2: Bluray movies look fantastic. Now that ive had this moniter for a few weeks i am still as impressed with it as i was when i first got it. A few more things i would like to add that i left out. First, the screen is matte not glossy. Huge difference if your in a room with alot of sunlight. My old dell was so glossy i couldnt even wear a white t-shirt without getting a reflection off the screen. Next is you can change the response time of this monitor in the Manual Image Adjust. I thought it was set to its fastest by default , but it wasnt. It is now set to Ultra Fast. I'm running 2 Nvidia 465gtx in sli. Thats all for now.

I own a Apple 21.5 inch imac, My wife owns a 27 inch imac. I also got a HP elite six core monster hooked up to a HP 2509m which I like. I got this monitor because of my current monitor for my PC the HP 2509M and it's impressive display.
Now I know the HP 2511 isn't supposed to look as good as my wife's 27 inch imac, but it does.I called HP Tech support and they told me this panel is a S-PVA display. IPS is supposed to be better than S-PVA, but by looking at my wifes 27inch imac, which has a yellow hue to the screen, the HP 2511 looks better, the whites are whiter and the blacks are blacker. No black light bleed, no dead or stuck pixels. Even colors. This panel just plain looks better.
I have this side by side in dual mode with my imac 21.5 inch and use this as my main display and i could not be happier. I would give this monitor six stars if I could.
