For the price Amazon was selling this arm for $99 I really wasn't expecting 'the world' but I ordered it anyway knowing that if it was truly dreadful I could return it (but knowing how lazy I am I also knew I probably wouldn't)..
So I put in the order and with AMAZON PRIME (which I love) I got the arm in no time.
The box was well packed and quite heavy... A good sign right off the bat.
Opened the box throwing the 2 sheets of paper (the instruction) to the side and went at it.. Was somewhat confused and quickly have the instruction the once over... It seemed simple enough but the instructions were only pictorial which was fine till you got to the part of the setup where you needed to adjust 3 ( I think ) HEX screws each one needed to be tightened and/or loosened to allow the monitor to be moved in the various directions that the arm allows...
In some cases.. ESPECIALLY the arm that controls the UP-DOWN arm was kinda tricky... I wasn't sure if I needed to tighten or loosen the screw and the diagram was less than clear. It showed the screw that needed to be adjusted and it also emphasized the arm needed to be an a straight line parallel to the desktop. After a bit of experimentation I finally got it adjusted and the arm will move wherever I want it to an STAY without drooping! I have the arm connected to an HP w2408 24" HD display and I can deftly move it in small increments up down left right and it just stays where I put it.
Can't say too much more.. but I've got a 2nd one on order and I intend to use it on my wife's 24" iMac (I already have the VESA adapter that is sold separately) --- A substantially heavier device but since this arm has a max load of 13.5 lbs to 44 lbs I have no problems... I'll post a followup when the iMac is using the arm.
