Definitive Technology BP7006 120v Tower Speaker (Single, Right Channel, Black) Review

Definitive Technology BP7006 120v Tower Speaker (Single, Right Channel, Black)

If any mid-high range audio company does it right, it's Def Tech.
I bought these on 12/1/08 along with the Def Tech C/L/R 2300, plugged them in to my Yamaha HTR-5890 (130 watts per channel) and they sound INCREDIBLE. I bought them mainly for home theater, but i also listen to music, which sounds crystal clear.
The midrange and tweeter do an incredible job at capturing detailed sounds in movies that I never heard on my previous system. Voices from the center (which contains the exact same midrange, tweeter, and subwoofer that the 7006's do) sound like real voices; not someone talking in a tin can. The subwoofer picks up deep voices and other noises that any other center wouldn't. I highly recommend pairing the fronts and center for a real theater experience.
The 8" subwoofers produce very tight and accurate bass. I have the Sub Level knobs half way up and it is plenty loud. The only thing about the subs is they obviously don't hit the lows that a 10 or 12 can, but this is only noticeable when listening to rap music. For movies and other music, the subs are just perfect.
The speakers on the back of the bi-polar 7006's do a whole lot more than I thought they would. While listening to Every Word by Ercola (in 2 channel stereo) there were parts of the song where I thought my rears were on. I stood up and put my ear next to them, and they weren't. I have the fronts angled in so they are pointing at me while I'm on the couch, and in turn, the midrange and tweeter on the back of the speaker are angled out. This causes the sound to bounce off the front wall, then side walls, and eventually off the back walls. It really fills the whole room with sound, even in 2 channel stereo.
The 7006's are plenty loud and clear for my room (20'x15'). I am so satisfied with them that I don't see the need to upgrade (to the 7004's or 7002's) unless you have a bigger room. My next plan is to get a y-adapter along with two subwoofer cables to hook up the optional LFE jack. This will allow me to set a LFE cut off point on my receiver (and level), thus allowing me to control the bass even more so.
If you are looking in the price range, I suggest Def Tech. It truly creates an amazing home theater experience with life like room filling sound and accurate, tight bass.
EDIT: I have had these speakers for over a week now, and they keep sounding better and better every day. Most high end speakers such as these require a "break-in" period, anywhere between 40 and 60 hours of modest play time. The most noticeable change is definitely in the subwoofers. They are hitting deeper and cleaner than when I first got them. I will keep you updated when I hook up the LFE channel.

Klipsch Heresy III Walnut (Ea.) Heritage Series 3-Way Floorstanding Loudspeakers Review

Klipsch Heresy III Walnut (Ea.) Heritage Series 3-Way Floorstanding Loudspeakers
Average Reviews:

I have owned Heresy's since 1975, in 1985 I bought the Heresy II's and this year I bought the Heresy III's, they just keep getting better, they have a full presence and spatial displacement like nothing else in their price class. I got 20 years out of my last pair, this pair, probably the same, the handcrafted quality is apparent, the sound, even at low volumes is incredibly clear.
I kid you not folks, I am a Klipshophile, and for my "man cave" there are always a pair of Heresy's, the is no better crafted or sounding speaker for the money (albeit a lot) and few speakers at any price that can stand next to these wonderful speakers. As an aside, I always go with the Oiled Walnut.

First introduced in 1957, the Heresy, a three-way design, started out as a compact center channel speaker to accompany the Klipschorn in three-speaker stereo arrays. In 1985, Klipsch made some changes and improvements to this model and re-released it as the Heresy II. Today, Klipsch has given theHeresy III a bi-wire network, titanium diaphragm tweeter and larger magnet assembly. The midrange has moved from a phenolic to a titanium diaphragm. All of these changes result in improved tonal balance and increased output. In fact the Heresy III is two decibels louder (96 to 98dB), improving on its already high sensitivity. In addition to delivering smooth, dynamic and low distortion sound, the Heresy III has a high-qualityand rich walnut wood veneer finish! JBL L880 4-Way, High Performance 6-inch Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Black) Review

JBL L880 4-Way, High Performance 6-inch Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The JBL L880 floorstanding towers are EXTRAORDINARY value for money compared with other manufacturer's and internet only dealers products. Many will claim to have very neutral response and dynamic potential, but JBL has been in the business of making speakers since before many of those companies were glimmers in the eyes of their founders.
You can find excellent measurements of the L880's response curves online (Stereophile has an excellent review with such measurements) and the measurements don't lie. Flat response on axis from 40KHz down to about 30 Hz (with some leeway for room reinforcement). What that means in terms of listening is that everything sounds exactly as the mixer, engineers, and musicians (or movie makers if that's your bag) intended it to; nothing is being unduly influenced by characteristics of the speakers themselves, hence the description as neutral.
I've been using these paired with an Onkyo TX-SR606, a JBL LC2 center, and some surrounds that used to be the fronts in an Onkyo package (SKS-HT540) for home theater, but what's been most pleasantly surprising is how much these have gotten me back into stereo music listening.
These are excellent speakers for both music and movies, but their musicality is amazing. They produce rich, full bass, mids, and highs with great ease. If you push them, they don't sweat, they just go louder and louder until your AVR gets to its limits. These speakers have made me reconsider my stance on getting a pre-pro and separate amps in the future. Now I want them worse than ever, just to see what these are capable of with 200 Watts RMS vs. the ~90 I'm giving them now.
I've rediscovered my love of classical music thanks to these speakers. I can't wait to get some pipe organ CDs to really put them through their paces.
Pros
-Very nice looking in cherry finish (I'll post a photo)
-Astonishing sound reproduction
-Great stereo imaging
-Great punch and dynamics (esp. for movies, but even with driving rock and roll at extreme volumes these loudspeakers don't crack a sweat)
-Huge headroom for further amplification (as funds become available)
-Nice interconnects and relatively undetectable crossovers (that's a good thing)
-Excellent full range response
Cons
-Size may be an issue for some (I believe in bigger is better when speakers are on the table; see photo for size reference)
-Bi-wire connectivity is more gimmick than reality
-Plastic feet are a weak point but don't look bad
-Resistance ratings are optimistic at 8 ohms nominal (see Stereophile's review among others, these have a wide patch of 3-4 ohm response that may tax some receivers not rated for those low resistances)
In sum these speakers are AMAZING value for money, even at Amazon's prices (though sometimes Harman refurbished ones can be had for less elsewhere on the internet making them even greater value). They are great for home theater applications, but I think even better for music listening in 2 channel or multi-channel. To be completely honest I wish I could buy 3 more L880s for multichannel applications but I know my wife would kill me.
I'm not an audiophile, but I do like classical and jazz music at reference volumes (and play both nonprofessionally) and I can tell you from my own experience with other far more expensive brands at boutique audio stores, these will give speakers at 4 times the price a run for their money with the right amplification (at least 75 W RMS in real life, not manufacturers specs) and have blown everything I've heard at twice the price away solidly.
p.s. There's another reviewer who has suggested that these speakers are the same as the LC2 center channel speaker in the same line. As an owner of both, I can tell you they are not. Cabinet resonance and porting creates a very different speaker (even my Onkyo agrees as the Audyssey 2EQ calibration program crosses the LC2 over at 60 Hz, but leaves the L880s at "Full Range"). The bass and midbass are far fuller and more robust from the L880s.

Polk Audio RTI A7 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black) Review

Polk Audio RTI A7 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black)

(More customer reviews)
I have been in the process of replacing my HT speakers, moving away from my piecemeal 5.1 setup (old Altec fronts, Bose surround satellites, Boston Acoustics center channel), to an all-Polk 5.1 configuration. From the research I did prior to actually buying anything, reviews seemed to stress that the RTI-A polk line sounds just about as good as other companies' speakers that typically run for twice the price. After listening to a bunch of options at the now-defunct Tweeter, I came to the same conclusion; I purchased this set of RTI-A7s for fronts, a Polk Audio CSI A6 Center Channel, and Polk Audio RTI A3s for rears. I got the RTI-A7s for a song at Tweeter right before they closed, even cheaper than here or other sites.
These were also the first new items I bought as part of my replacement project, so it really gave me a chance to listen to these in comparison with my old Altecs. I did an A-B test, and the detail and sound field these babies put out really blew away the older, more conventional (and aesthetically speaking much uglier) Altecs (running on a Yamaha RX-V1800). Mid- and High-range detail are exceptional on the RTI A7s, really light years ahead of my old dinosaurs, and perfect for HD formats like BluRay or SACD. The only area where the Altecs win by a slight margin is deep bass (

Polk Audio M20 - Speaker - 2-way - black Review

Polk Audio M20 - Speaker - 2-way - black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These speakers would not have attracted my attention at MSRP. At what appears to be a " closeout Price " of just over $50 each I felt if for nothing else I could use these as a deluxe pair of speakers for my PC, with the use of a decent quality external Stereo Amplifier. The shipping cost added to the bottom line price although even with that these speakers are quite a bargain !
If you are looking to turn your house or room into a Disco or Rock Club these are not going to do that for you. For average use in a smaller to moderate sized room however the Polk Audio M20 speakers can do a very respectable job filling the room with very nice sound at a bargain price !
The mid range is especially good and I found it excellent for listening to Piano compared to other speakers I normally use such as my Eltax M3bookshelf speakers and Eltax floor standing speakers. The high end on the M20 is clear and crisp.
If you like bass however I would suggest using these speakers with an amplifier having a " loudness Contour " or Bass Boost function. I normally listen to music with a 16 DB bass boost and found this was needed to give me the kind of sound I desire for maximum listening pleasure.
AS I planned to use these speakers for listening to music and internet radio programming on the Internet, most media players have an equalizer function which works out perfectly for me.
The build quality of these speakers is quite good. I was so pleased with the overall performance of the Polk M20 both for use on a PC ( with external decent quality amplifier ) as well as for use on my stereo system, I bought a second pair of these a few days after buying the first pair. A Real Bargain at this closeout price !
I also found the PSW111 sub woofer being offered at a drastically reduced price so I bought one of those also but have not yet tried it out.
As this seems to be a clearance price, grab yourself a pair of Polk Audio M20 floor standers while you can still get them. These can also be great for surround sound systems too !

Klipsch RF-42 II Black (Ea) Floorstanding Speaker Review

Klipsch RF-42 II Black (Ea) Floorstanding Speaker

Already own rf-82's in a home theater suite and picked up rf-42's for 1/2 off. Was expecting the Klipsch "sound" for mids and highs but wasn't expecting 2 4.5 inch woofers to be this powerful! I'm running them with an old Technics receiver from the mid 80's at 65 watts/channel with just a cd player in the living room. I thought for sure I was going to have to pick up a new receiver and subwoofer to get any real bass but I was mistaken. The sub would be nice but now just an afterthought. You just need to give them some room behind for the ports to work properly. I have them about 18 inches from the wall and get plenty of nice bass, you can really feel the air from the port when you push them a bit. Overall I will definately reccommend these.....especially if space is an issue.

Klipsch Reference Series RF-52 - Left / right channel speaker - 100 Watt - 2-way - black (each)
Average Reviews:

This speakers are nothing short of amazing, for the price they offer tremendous clarity and rock-solid bass. If you're looking for affordable hi-fi towers then look no more, this can rival much more expensive speakers and are a breeze to drive. Being extremely "sensitive" (96dB @ 2.83V / 1m) they can produce large amounts of sound with a relatively low amount of power (ideal if you wish to pair them with "true hi-fi" amps that are expensive when they break the 60 watt mark).
As for the sound goes, these speakers have sparkling highs that are effortlessly spread across the listening area thanks to the horn-loaded titanium dome tweeters. Midrange is vibrant, very present and smooth. Bass is accurate, fast and even earth-shattering. Stereo Imaging is very, very good, for the price is just marvelous; it's not pin-point accurate when compared to much more expensive speakers but for the price is fantastic. They have the ability to perform bass-intensive music with ease and are capable of resolving sonically stressing musical passages with not much effort. Expect these to suit almost every musical needs; from bass-crazy electronic music, to smooth, classical nuances and heavy metal, they will perform superbly.
The cons: even though this isn't exactly the speaker's fault, the horn-loaded tweeters can expose any roughness in the recording, some music suffering from the "loudness war" or that is poorly recorded might sound odd with these floorstanders. Also, their rear-firing port can be tad painful, since it needs at least 25-30 cms (9-11inches) to function perfectly. Owned these for almost a year now and those are the only complaints I have for now.
Amp recommendations: These speakers are really nice, Klipsch made a terrific job here, so please don't go cheap on the amplification. If you wish to go for "big" brands like Maratanz, Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha go ahead, they'll work, but I seriously recommend you look in the grounds of NAD, Rotel, Arcaim, etc. as they WILL sound much, much better. Since they can produce huge amounts of sound with relatively low wattage, true hi-fi amps (which usually don't roam the 100+ watts area, however, anywhere from 40 to 100 watts will do here) are a better way to go. I have a 40watt per channel NAD C315BEE and the whole setup sounds plain awesome, if you wish to go higher and can afford it, do it, the sound will usually increase a bit.
Overall, these speakers are fantastic for the price, as far as sub $600 floorstanders go this are amongst the best. If you wish great sound, earthshattering bass, 'crisp' highs, and lovely vocals then look no more, buy em' you wont regret em'.

Pioneer S-31-LR Floorstanding Speakers (Black, Pair) Review

Pioneer S-31-LR Floorstanding Speakers (Black, Pair)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been a stereo geek for, maybe, 35 years now. Through those years, the industry's progress that has impressed me most has happened in loudspeakers. What was once done with a big cone in a big box driven with big power is now done with math. Figuring out resonate frequencies and cabinet volumes and manipulating them to find bass where none was before is now the norm. But once upon a time, expecting a skinny little tower speaker with 4" woofers to have any bass at all was fantasy.
And these towers are skinny, with a small footprint. The 7.9" and 9.1" width and depth dimensions listed are for the foot. The towers themselves are about 6" by 7". A DVD case will just about cover the top. The height is just under 40", not 30.6" as listed by Amazon. One other correction, the small cloth grills that cover each driver are held in place with rubber sockets that grip plastic tabs on the grill frame. The grills are not held magnetically.
These speakers come shipped together in one big box. Also in the box: an owner's manual, a worldwide list of service centers, 2 lengths of speaker wire, 8 peel and stick foam rubber feet and an anti-tip fastener. The anti-tip fastener is a small square loop of metal that attaches to a socket on the back of the speaker with a supplied screw. By passing a wire through this loop and attaching it to the wall behind, you can insure that if a rug rat decides to climb Mount Speaker, the speaker won't fall on top of him.
The speaker wire can be thrown away. I'm against buying very expensive speaker wire that some companies offer, but the wires that come with these speakers are very thin. I'm guessing 22 or 24 gauge. Consider the included speaker wire as just a courtesy. You'll want better.
Connections are made with gold-plated binding posts on the back of the speaker. This is made easier since the posts are surface-mounted and not in a recessed well. (Thank you, Pioneer!) The posts are, however, mounted on a metal plate. Be extra cautious when you connect the speaker wires that you leave no stray strands that could cause a short. The binding posts do not accept banana plugs. Two other quick facts: the woofers use rubber surrounds and the tweeter is surrounded by sound absorbing material to limit refraction of high frequencies.
The first time I fired up these speakers, I got really worried. They sounded awful. The bass was boomy with no real depth. The highs were muted and dull sounding. What a difference a day makes! After several hours of play, these became different speakers. I kind-of expected the bass problems to improve but the big surprise for me was that the speakers became much brighter and much better defined.
Overall, fidelity is very good. The sound is tight and smooth and not overly bright. I wish, however, that these Pioneer speakers had more detail. Vocals tend to fall into the sound mix instead of standing separate out front. Wood blocks and cymbals have a softer attack then I prefer. This is a speaker that likes male vocalists over female ones. There's a dip in the frequency response around 3KHz* that gives Joni Mitchell's voice an extra dose of earthiness and gravel on the orchestral version of "For the Roses," for example.
The bass coming out of these skinny towers is astounding. Still, there are limits. Pioneer rates the frequency respond of these speakers as 38 Hz - 40 KHz without specifying the tolerance which is, of course, meaningless. My handy little test CD and sound level meter say that response is down 15db at 40 Hz.* That's what my ears tell me too. These speakers are by no means bass shy. In fact there's plenty of bass most of the time. But if you use them as fronts for your home theatre and expect the next Michael Bay movie to shake your couch, you'll be shopping for a subwoofer the next day.
Because I was so fascinated by the bass capabilities of these speakers, I pushed them harder than is probably fair. Donald Fagen's album "Morph the Cat" has some very deep bass. I cranked it very high trying to get the Pioneers to misbehave. I had to give up before they did. The Pioneers simply rolled off the bass they couldn't reach and stayed clean.
Clean is a good word to describe the sound of these speakers. The sound is always tight and well controlled. I'd sacrifice a little control for more openness and detail, but these are personal preferences. You'll like the sound of these speakers if amplified music sounds harsh or screechy to you sometimes. If loud rock music gives you listening fatigue very quickly, these Pioneers may be the antidote.
These speakers are beautifully finished. The theme is black. The towers themselves are black wood grain. The foot is glossy black and the spacers are a black chrome. Pioneer doesn't say how these towers are finished, but if it's not wood veneer, it's at least something good enough to fool me. The foot looks like doped MDF. That's a good thing. You don't want liquid on the floor from a spilled drink to ruin the finish. The only non-black visible is a 1.5" Pioneer logo near the bottom. Nice. These speakers don't call attention to themselves, but when they do get noticed they are understated and classy. Pioneer understands that these speakers are going into people's living rooms and need to be fine furniture.
You'll want to leave the grills on. I took them off briefly hoping to be entertained by the sight of little woofers beating themselves silly. I was denied. Cone movements were as controlled as the sound.
These speakers are less efficient than most. This is not a problem for most people, but if you have a vintage amp without much power, these Pioneers are not for you. These speakers are for you if you have limited space. It's pretty darn amazing how much clean sound comes from such a small footprint. Speakers are a very personal purchase. If you decide to audition these, please be sure the units you listen to have 10 hours play time or more on them.
Had I come across these speakers back in the day, it'd be the equivalent of seeing a UFO land in my backyard. Things have come a long way.*I think my numbers are close to being accurate, but please take them with a grain of salt. I am not an engineer with an anechoic chamber and professional test equipment. I'm a guy sitting in his living room with a test CD and a sound level meter. I took all measurements with the Pioneer speakers positioned 8" away from the wall as shown in the instructions.

Polk Audio TSi500 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Cherry) Review

Exterior Finish - Got the speakers and unpacked them to an amazing sight of cherry finish with the high gloss back top. My wife absolutely loved it. They are one of the bigger towers and will dwarf even a 40inch TV.
Sound - Listened to a lot of speakers..Paradigm studios, klipsch Icons, reference series, Polk Rtis, PSB image towers and Infinity towers....to me the paradigm studios were the best in sound but they were astronomical in terms of price. Finally it was between these and the PSBs, the klipsh Icons and the polks RTis sounded bright to me. Did a lot of listening with my own cd at Frys, my friends place, bestbuy and a whole list of places. The psbs seemed to have the best mid range but lacked the clarity at the highs these provided. The klipsch Icons were ruled out as even the TSI400s sounded better than those. Since i was looking for beefier mids I went with these and have not looked back since. Running them using an Emotiva amp. I have pushed them to a true 100 watts and they were wanting more. I could not go past this point as I dint want cops at my door...:) needless to say these performed like champs.
For HT these are beasts...provides an in theater experience once the lights go out. Pair them with a CS20 and you will have an extreme front sound stage.
Value - Must buy for the sheer value provided at this price range. An absolute yes to an audiophile who knows the law of diminshing returns or a practical person who wants most from his purchase.

JBL L890 4-Way, High Performance 8-inch Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Black) Review

JBL L890 4-Way, High Performance 8-inch Dual Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Black)

I have had these speakers for a little over a month and they sound great. Even though I have a subwoofer, they sound great by themselves. In my opinion, this is a true full range speaker. The detailed highs, pronounced mid and deep lows make this speaker a winner. I not only recommend this speaker, I also recommend the rest of the Studio L line. One word of caution....they will sound really bright at first but they will calm down.

Polk Audio CSI A6 Center Channel Speaker (Single, Black) Review

Polk Audio CSI A6 Center Channel Speaker (Single, Black)
Average Reviews:

I have Polk Audio speakers from the good old days, when they were very good if not exceptional. I needed a more prominent center channel, but I did not want to replace the other "parts" of the home theater arrangement. After contacting Polk tech support, they recommended the CSI A6 as complementary to the existing array. It is a good fit and provides clear dialog and the tone and range blend well. (the system is driven by a Denon 5308)

Center channel speakers easily carry the 50% or more of center channel info delivered in multi-channel sources for home theatre systems. The Polk Audio CSI A6 Center Channel Speaker has an aimable cabinet to give you placement flexibility and finer sound-tailoring for your high performance home theater system. The CSi A6 features the latest generation of Dynamic Balance polymer composite drivers for smooth wide-range response with low distortion as well as a 1-inch silk/polymer dome tweeter to deliver better sound detail. The dual rear PowerPort bass venting vastly reduces chuffing or port noise. It provides deeper, more powerful, lower distortion bass than other conventional ported or sealed designs can offer. All-MDF construction creates an acoustically inert cabinet. Acoustically inert stamped driver baskets and floating anti-diffraction grilles minimize grille diffraction for spacious, 3-dimenional sound imaging. Neodymium magnet, low-viscosity ferro-fluid cooling and a heat sink on the back of the magnet to create better power handling and reliability. You are assured classic Polk performance in a design that speaks to today's high-end home décor. True performance art.

Polk Audio TSi400 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Cherry) Review

Polk Audio TSi400 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Cherry)

I have a pair of these as the fronts on my system, connected to a Denon AVR. I had compared the TSi300's and TSi400's at a local big box store and there was no comparison to my mind. The 400's with the extra 5 1/4" driver just have a fuller richer sound than the 300's. While the TSi500 was tempting, I couldn't justify the price for the size of my living room. To be honest I can't see ever running the TSi400's at their top level without the police arriving at my house within 10 minutes.
They are tall, but not overly so and heavy weighing in at 32 pounds each. They are not however overly wide, taking up just 7 inches from side to side. For some perspective a dollar bill is 6 inches wide. So they take up a minimal amount of real estate from the front. I like the cherry veneer, sure it doesn't look exactly like the real cherry stair case they are sitting next to, however the black just looks like painted plywood.
I have these paired up with a CS10 as the center, which blends seamlessly with the pair and a PSW10 in the corner to supply that little bit of thump and rumble. I will probably upgrade the PSW10 at a later date but it works fine for the moment and it's only for nit picky reasons of styling and space that I'm really thinking of changing it at all. The one problem that I did have with these Polk speakers, is that my old Sony's have hidden their head in shame and left the room.
All in all a great purchase that I can recommend. They are expensive at full retail, but the 5 year warranty from Polk when purchased at an authorized dealer helps make up for that. The sound is definitely worth the price.

Yamaha NS-777 3-Way Bass Reflex Tower Speaker Review

Yamaha NS-777 3-Way Bass Reflex Tower Speaker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm no audiophile, but I know good speakers when I hear them. These play all ranges of music and movies very well. There is not as much low-end bass as I would expect from 2 8" drivers unless I add it from the receiver (Sony STR-DA1000ES). My receiver only pushes 100 watts/channel, which I was worried would not be enough... I was wrong. Eric Clapton and the Eagles never sounded so good! If you're looking for high quality sound with tight bass notes and crisp highs, these are your speakers. If you're looking for a booming sound for Rap or Action movies, I would suggest complementing these with a subwoofer.
Lastly, the "piano" black finish on the outside of these speakers is spectacular. Everyone thinks they are way more expensive than they are because of the finish and size. Just be careful when taking them out of the box so as not scratch the finish.

Yamaha NS777 250Watt 3-Way Tower SpeakerEnhance your home with the NS-777 High Performance Home Theater Floor Standing Speakers. Yamaha's NS-777 speaker system has been designed specifically for home theater applications. The floor standing speaker is a bass-reflex design that can be used for main channels and incorporates a pair of 8" Polymer-Injected Mica Diaphragm (PMD) cone woofers, a 5" midrange cone driver and a 1” aluminum dome tweeter. For improved imaging, the midrange and tweeter utilize Yamaha’s exclusive waveguide horns. Unlike most homes, movie theaters use sound absorbing materials on walls and ceilings. The result is that the sound reaching your ears is the sound wave produced by the speakers rather than reflected off the walls. Yamaha has created wave guides that greatly reduce reflected sound and increase the proportion of directly generated sound waves reaching your ears. The result is a clear and precise sense of sound direction and placement.
