This will be very short because I just bought it yesterday and set it up last night. Samsung must have heard the complaints on the stand because connecting the stand consisted of lining up three little pins and tightening a wingnut type screw. Very simple. We'll watch and see how it holds up, though I have no reason to think it won't be fine. On my computer (Windows XP Pro) the screen opened up when I first turned it on and a small window opened in the middle and told me I was not set to the optimum resolution (1920 X 1200) and after about a half minute the screen went blank. I finally read the quick set up guide after doing this twice and it says you have to fix that -reset your resolution- before it goes blank the third time or it's too late. I don't know what happens if you don't - does it go blank permanently and you have to return it or what? Anyway, I reset my resolution and boy is it gorgeous. For the past 3 or 4 years I've had a 19" monitor that I thought was okay. When I pulled up some photos in Photoshop on this screen and filled up that HUGE screen I was blown away. It was razor sharp and the color was perfect. I am a serious photographer and bought this mostly for editing in Photoshop and doing video work. I am very very happy with the clarity and vibrance of this monitor. For the price I almost expected to be dissapointed. Not so, just the opposite. I didn't intentionally view it from different angles, but as I recall, after reading some other reviews, When I stood up and walked in and out of the room and happened to look at it from side and high angles I did not notice any appreciable degradation. I'll take a closer look later as I'm not at that computer as I write this. Like some previous reviewers said I had to crank down the brightness a little, which I see as a good thing, because that means you've got more room for adjustment to your preferences. Well, this started off to be real short, but once I got going it didn't end that way. You should see my long ones. LOL
Addendum: I promised I would look at the screen at different angles when I got home and I have. I can see almost no degradation as I walk around the room and as I stand up and as I get down low and tilt the screen. There is a slight darkening at some near extreme angles. I can't imagine the kind of angle a person would be operating at to find any real problems with viewing this. In other words: "No problem man".
