I've had three drives fail (Seagate shipped a bunch of faulty product) and the card kept everything running while I took out the bad drive, shipped it back and then replaced it. Very fast, drivers available for all OS, and all processing is done on the card, not your system motherboard. If you want a high-level, reliable, hardware-based (virtually every card under $200 is a software-based card, which is much slower and uses system resources)than this is your card.
