When lightening killed my 2002 HP Pavilion I needed a replacement. I was looking a good value and this was it. I would have preferred a system that was more compatible as I needed to add an external USB/IDE in order to retrieve the information from and use my old hard drives. This replaced my last Windows XP system and I knew I would have software compatibility issues from my experience with my other computers which are Win 7 Ultimate 64 and Vista Ultimate 64. This fit my needs and my budget. It is not a dream machine and would not meet my requirements if it were my only computer. I have had no problems with this computer and it is a reliable basic system.
As an added note don't believe everything you hear about a battery backup protecting your system. A thunderstorm took out my battery backup, a computer, my router and cable modem. It also got a brand new Sony Tv. Everything was replaced my the manufacturer but my old computer. You need to have every system protected and backup all your data but be sure you throughly investigate the Battery backup before you purchase.
