InFocus X6 DLP Projector Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the picture from this projector. Being on the low-end price-wise I didn't expect the high-quality picture that it projected. I bought it for my 15-year old daughter to have movie parties with. It is also very simple to operate. The only downfall is that it only came with a cable to connect to a PC, but not a cable to connect to a DVD player (S-video to RCA) I had to order that separately since the stores (Radio Shack & Circuit City) do not carry it in stock.

InFocus IN26+ DLP Projector XGA 2400 Lu Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)There is one major thing that you need to do if you buy this product and that is upgrade to the latest firmware on the infocus website. The firmware that comes with it isn't nearly as good as the one they just released. Overall, for the money you can't go wrong with this projector. It has a decent resolution for a projector in the price range, and the 2200 lumens are more than enough. I keep mine on low power mode all the time and it still runs at 1700 lumens. There is nothing like watching movies on a 120' flat screen! I guess if there was a problem with this product it would be the noise. On low power mode it isn't really noticeable, but on high power, unless you have a movie with sound going, you are going to notice it. I personally love how much they have come down in price. This just last year would have cost me over 1200 dollars easy and now they're finally affordable. I recommend this product.

Epson PowerLite 77c 2200 Lumen Multimedia Projector Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This projector is a very good choice for home entertainment as well as work in an office or in the lab [my case]. It is very bright even when operated in economy mode. The self adjusting feature is very good, like for instance the auto keystone. The menu is easy to navigate, and efficient. The lamp is good, and cheap. The projector is quiet, and doesn't get too hot while operating. The cover lid for the lamp is a good extra. The machine is light and very easy to carry with the provided bag.
The remote could be bigger with bigger buttons. The VGA cable is rather short but can be replaced with a 10ft super-VGA shielded video cable for about $20.
In essence, a must buy! Clear, bright and sharp images/videos at a very reasonable price. I had a DELL projector before and I regret I didn't trust EPSON to begin with!

Sharp XR32XL Multimedia Projector Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I've only had this projector for a couple of days but it looks stunning on my 10' screen (106" diagonnal 16:9).
It replaced an HP VP 6320 that I really loved and this looks just as good.
I am using this as a home theatre projector and it comes well-equipped for that job. It has a DVI-D port (easy to find adapter that changes it to an HDMI) and it is DHCP compliant so there are no upscaling issues or other "digital rights" problems.
I am using it to view HD-DVD's and Blu Ray discs, and while it doesn't do 1080P, it does handle 1080i and 720P with perfection.
Bright enough for a normal room with normal lighting (you don't have to turn off lights to see this bright picture. yet blacks are black and colors are vibrant.
The cheapest 1080p projector out there is still well-over 2 thousand dollars, so if you aren't quite ready to sell out $2500 for a 1080p projector, consider the Sharp XR-32X, which renders perfection on the screen for less than $800 ($795 at Sam's and Amazon).

Panasonic PT-AX200U 720p 3LCD Home Theater Projector Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Didn't think buying a projector would take as long as it did. I've been researching projectors off and on for the past 2 and a half years and have enjoyed the process of testing a virtually endless onslaught of manufacturers and different image quality. Finally decided on a Panasonic PT-AX200U due to a special running through HTmarket.com that had a mail in rebate for an additional 1 year warranty on the purchase of a Panasonic projector. I bought my projector for $1299 and have had about a month to play with the projector.
Initial highlights - good projector for the money if you have a good source (HD DVD/Blu Ray/upconverting DVD player). Very easy setup with image adjustments. I was up and running in 5 minutes.
Friends and family are stunned at the size of the screen images capable with this projector (I'm running a 110 inch screen). Clearly capable of more than that.
Good image for old format DVDs IF you have a DVD upconverter to 720p/1080i/1080p. I initially ran a couple of DVDs, the Incredibles, Lord of the Rings, the Matrix, Blade, into through my Denon DVD 2900 (originally a $1000 DVD player) and was somewhat disappointed by the pixelation and some noticeable Screen Door Effect (SDE).
My brother came over the following weekend with his Sony Playstation 3 and we ran one of his videogames through the HDMI cable into the projector to see if we could tell a difference - whoa, noticeable difference in image detail and elimination of the pixelation and SDE.
Went out to Best Buy the following weekend to buy a cheap RCA dvd up converter for $30 and now run all my DVDs through it.
Would recommend this projector if pairing to a high gain screen - the bulb brightness, while bright for stock, definitely requires a high gain (+1.3) screen to maximize some of the darker image films (Blade/Matrix/Lord of the Rings/Aliens).

Sharp XR-1S Ultra Portable DLP Video Projector -1100 Lumens SVGA Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I'm new to the world of projectors, but I love this and got it about 10 months ago(april 2005). It has 2 inputs, VGA, S-Video, and Standard RCA Video-in. Mine came with a 106" draper screen and an HD compoent to VGA connector. Basically I have my Cable Box in the HD/VGA input, DVD in the Svideo, and VCR in the RCA.
The HD is incredible, the DVD is amazing, and the VCR is excellent! The only downside in my eyes is the lack of DVI input, but is not really needed.
It is also very quiet on wisper mode, and the picture difference only very slight. The menus are fantasticly easy to use also, and auto-keystone works well. There are many options to tinker with. I have it connected to a Nakamichi soundSpace 8, which acts great as hometheater sound system. People are amazed the quality of the picture and sound when they see it, and have to force people to get out of my house.
A fairly Dark enviroment is recommended though. I use mine in the basement, which is where my rec room is, so it's perfect. I can open the shades and watch, but the color is water downed.
I paid $1100 for the package in April, and use it 4 hours a day, and still have over 50% of the bulb left.
Go for it! 106" 16X9 HD is jaw dropping!

Elite Screens EzFrame Fixed Frame Projection Screen, 16:9 Aspect Ratio - 84in. (Cine White) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I wanted to get a quality screen that would work in our new home theater and was very impressed with the quality of this screen. Being an engineer by trade, I was impressed that the aluminum extrusion used on this frame was of high quality and was machined to very close tolerance's. The instructions were not needed as all of the parts were well designed and fit well. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble the frame and then fit the screen to the frame. Very well done Elite Screens!

Sharp XR32SL Multimedia Projector Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I just bought the XR-32S early this week for $475 (ad special at Fy's) not too bad for a 2500 lumens projector.
My primary use is for projecting movies, outputted from my Macbook Pro, onto a Gemmy 12-foot inflatable screen in the backyard. This definitely does the trick in terms of brightness.
The contrast looks good; picture quality is a little more than sufficient. If you get close, the picture does look a little pixilated when projecting from some distance. Slight squares are present, but not too distracting. Indoors, the picture looks great.
Advice for other Mac users--
The SHARP XR-32S DOES NOT have Mac DVI input, I needed to buy a separate DVI-VGA converter. It claimed to be Mac-compatible out of the box - definitely not the case.
The SHARP XR-32X is Mac compatible requiring no converter cable.
I wish I would have known that before buying.
