This tablet has opened a new world of possibilities for me in photo editing with the ease in which I can make selections.
It is so much more accurate than trying to do it with a mouse, it is amazing. Don't know how I got along without it.

Wacom Graphire4 6x8 USB Tablet (Blue) Review

Wacom Graphire4 6x8 USB Tablet (Blue)

(More customer reviews)
Wow. Graphire makes an exellent tablet. Pen is very smooth on the cover for the tablet(which can be removed so you can place a picture under it for handy-dandy tracing) and the transition between the computer and tablet is very fast. As soon as you get a grip on the pen and put it on the tablet the mouse imediatley adjusts to your screen size. You can of course fix these options to your liking, but I didn't need to do so and I animate (so you'd think I would probably be the most picky). One thing that you might want to adjust though, is the buttons on the pen so it has similar buttons to a mouse or whatever you like, and you can even set new buttons that aren't on the list to your liking. Another feature you might have to adjust to is the pen-to-tablet transition. For example, if you are using MSpaint, or Macromedia Flash, or other graphic arts products, as soon as the tablet picks up the pen (although the pen isn't touching)the tablet will immediately start drawing. What I mean is; if you're using MSpaint with a mouse (for example) you would have to click for the paint brush to start actually making lines, but as soon as the pen touches the tablet, it would have the same effect I just described with a mouse. One more thing I wanted to mention was that the 6x8 tablet is probably the best "bang for your buck". To sum up this tablet, if you like graphic arts then you're in luck for a great deal.

Whether you're an artist, graphic designer, or business person, the Wacom Graphire4 6x8 USB Tablet can make your life a lot easier and more productive. Using the Graphire4's unique pressure-sensitive wireless pen and tablet, you can mark up Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF documents with your handwritten comments, edit and enhance your digital photos, quickly create original digital art work, add handwritten notes to your PowerPoint presentations, write your e-mail messages by hand, and much more. Not only will the Graphire4 help your productivity soar, it will also reduce the problems associated with repetitive stress problems and bring a level of performance to your work that is not possible with a typical keyboard and mouse. An Artist's Tool That's Not Just for Artists The Graphire digital pen and tablet have long been essential for graphic designers and artists. With the help of Corel Painter Essential 2, which is included with the Graphire4, the Wacom pen can give you the control you need to create just about any type of graphics you want. You simply draw your design against the tablet just as you would with a canvas or piece of blank paper. And if photography is your art of choice, the included Adobe Photoshop Elements 3, along with the included nik Color Efex Pro2 GE filter collection, will let you quickly edit and enhance your digital photos for stunning professional results. And Macintosh users can use the Graphire pen to enjoy all the digital-inking capabilities of Apple Inkwell.Because all of Wacom's tablets are pressure sensitive--they literally feel the full range of pressure from the pen on the tablet--you get unparalleled control with your creations. Press hard, and you get a more opaque clone, a fatter paintbrush, or a darker stroke. Press lightly, and you have a transparent clone, a thin brush, or a gentle stroke of color. The tablet can even sense the tilt of your pen, giving you the ability to tilt your brush for cool effects. Microsoft Office OneNote is specially designed for note taking. With the Graphire4, OneNote lets you capture information in several ways. For instance, you can move the cursor to any place on the screen and start writing. You can also add handwritten diagrams and pictures. If you're working with the English language version of Microsoft XP, you can also write directly in a Word document, Explorer search bar, or e-mail, and with the help of Microsoft's handwriting-recognition capabilities, your writing will be converted to text just as if you were using the keyboard. If you've ever been in the position of reviewing documents, you know how inefficient it can be to print out your document, mark it up, and then forward your comments. With Graphire4, you can convert any of your documents to Adobe PDF, digitally sign it, and mark up the documents using your pen and tablet just as you would with pen. You simply select the pen tool from your PDF toolbar and add your comments and revisions. When you're done, you can just forward the document via e-mail, saving several time-consuming steps. If you are a teacher or need to make presentations to a business audience, you can even use Graphire4 to turn your PowerPoint presentation into a "whiteboard." With PowerPoint's pen tool, you can add your handwritten marks onto a blank slide or straight onto your slides. This gives you all the flexibility of the old-fashioned overhead projector, but without the mess to clean up. Advanced Tools That Know Few Boundaries At the heart of the Graphire4 is a wireless, battery-free digital pen that offers 512 levels of pressure sensitivity for maximum control, two programmable side buttons for convenience, and a pressure-sensitive eraser for easy fixes. Pressure sensitivity makes it possible to control the amount of a software tool's effect simply by varying how firmly the pen tip is pressed to the tablet, just as you would with a mechanical pen or pencil. Using a Graphire4 pen is easy because every point on the tablet has a matching point on the screen. When the pen is moved over the tablet, the cursor moves in precisely the same way on the screen. The Graphire4 tablet uses a USB connection for quick installation on both PCs and Macs. At a compact 6 by 8 inches, it offers a large enough area to do your work but is portable enough to be carried wherever you need to go. A transparent photo frame surrounding the work area makes the tablet easy to personalize with photos and artwork. The photo frame also contains a clever pen compartment that, along with the pen stand, provides two convenient ways to keep the pen handy and secure. The Graphire4 also features a scroll wheel right on the tablet and two programmable ExpressKeys for navigation, mouse clicks, and keyboard shortcuts. With a sleek metallic blue design, the Graphire 4 will nicely complement your work station. (Note: the Graphire4 6x8 USB Tablet is also available in white and silver.) The cordless, battery-free mouse offers smooth and highly accurate tracking with up to four times the resolution of an optical mouse. It features a rubberized grip for comfort, and the scrolling finger wheel also serves as a third programmable button for convenience. By alternately using the pen and mouse, you can significantly reduce the repetitive motion that contributes to stress injuries. A rechargeable lithium polymer tablet battery provides up to 25 hours between charges, and a universal power adapter permits simultaneous tablet charging and comfortable use ExpressKeys. The Graphire4 also profits from years of research into how people use pens and tablets. Everything from the elegant shape and feel of the pen--with its tapered waist and finger flare--to the exact texture of the drawing surface is designed to minimize strain and maximize comfort. What's in the Box Graphire4 6x8 pen tablet, pen, pen stand, mouse, 2 CD-ROMs, Wacom tablet driver software, user manual, and bundled software (Adobe Photoshop Elements 3, Corel Painter Essentials 2, and nik Color Efex Pro 2 GE)

Samsung SP-H03 PICO PROJECTOR; LED & DLP Review

Samsung SP-H03 PICO PROJECTOR; LED and DLP
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is well not a review per-se but It's a video showing the Projector in action, however I am going to take a bit of time here in this written section to speak of some pros and cons that I didn't discuss in the video.
Pro
Small and portable
Rechargeable battery.
Internal memory.
read a good variety of video files even subs files, music files (FLAC comes to mind), it can show .DOC .PDF .TXT files too.
Cons
Battery, it says 1:30 to 2:00 hours but if having a USB pen drive connected the battery dies very fast.
Touch controls on the top of the unit, is sometimes not very responsive but still works good, also since the controls are on the unit
itself when changing settings or whatever you may accidentally move the player.
at 70+ inches (max 80-85) the image looks a bit dark, I dunno if its cause I don't have a projector screen, I'm getting one soon so I'll post a comment about how it looks after I test it.

I bought one of these a month ago at a much higher price, but it was also Refurbished. The product is great, no need to spend money on a new one, the factory refurbs are just as good. You can't even tell they are refurbished. I was amazed how well they work, if you have not used a Tablet before I suggest you try it.

Wacom Intuos4 Wireless Pen Tablet (Academic Version) Review

Wacom Intuos4 Wireless Pen Tablet (Academic Version)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Works like it should, use a HP Envy, I7 Pentium, 1 terrabyte of space, 8 gigs memory w/ SD flash formatted to be Readyboosted (2 gigs extra RAM). So with that set-up, the thing works well, just like it's supposed to. The only complaint is that you do have to enable it each time by plugging it in, this might be because I'm on a laptop and it disables the touchpad when it does this. Also, like all bluetooth devices, if you are using one bluetooth device, it will interfere with others. So follow the instructions and turn off all other bluetooth devices or you will get interference.
I had no problem doing the installation and thus far, no problems using it. A word of warning though. This is an advanced tool meant for people who do serious drawing. I use it for web design and only spend maybe an hour or two actually drawing, then the rest is spent working in php/html/css etc. Friends I have who do this for 8 to 10 hours a day tend to complain that you need a lot of replacement parts, thus far, I'm not having any problems.
Also, this is an advanced device. Not to be snarky, but the first user clearly had no idea what he was buying or why he/she would need it. Don't get this because you think it's a cool device to have, because it has a steep learning curve and you will have to use it for quite a while to understand and configure it properly. If you're more old-school and prefer to do the outlines and then upload the sketch into a computer, the tablet does not feel like a real sketchpad, and even changing the pens out, none of them really simulate a good graphite pencil. So this is a tool for someone who likes working in digital media, and in my case, likes to boost their computer out through the HDMI port and look at what they're working on in big screen.
If you are really curious about how to maximize its effectiveness, check out Kelbytraining.com and look up their video on using the Wacom4.

When I was looking up for a replacement for my Bamboo drawing pad, I managed to come across this product. I decided to get this because of the much larger reading pad size. When it arrived in the mail, I quickly opened it to find the product being better than what I have expected! There were these various of different notify buttons on the pad that you can actually program them to open up any program or use a command in a program, like the undo button in Adobe! Overall, I am very satisfied wtih the product and that it was well worth the price!

Wacom Intuos4 Large Pen Tablet (Academic Version) Review

Wacom Intuos4 Large Pen Tablet (Academic Version)
Average Reviews:

After alot of research, I finally bought this for myself at a really nice price from Amazon.com. The academic version is exactly the same as the regular one, so I don't know why you would want to spend more, when this is the exact same thing. Comes in the original packaging, software bundles included, mouse, and pen holder with extra nibs etc. It's all there! So do yourself a favor and buy the academic one. You'll be glad you did. Spend the money on a Wacom, nothing else compares in quality, sensitivity, or response time.
I use this for my digital painting, and love it! The large surface area makes it so nice to create large sweeping strokes. I love the customizable function buttons with the led display next to them. And the scroll wheel is my most used feature. Use it all the time for zooming, brush size, and rotation of the canvas if necessary. If you are into digital painting or photo retouching, a tablet like this will make your job so much easier and nicer. A mouse feels like using a bar of soap to draw with to me, and I'm glad I made this purchase. I have a real pen to paper feel when drawing/painting now. This tablet is compatible with every painting program I have tried, and will run on Windows, Mac, and Linux. (Linux requires a bit more work to install the drivers, but that is the nature of Linux).

ASUS Eee Slate EP121-1A010M 12.1-Inch Tablet PC Review

ASUS Eee Slate EP121-1A010M 12.1-Inch Tablet PC
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've had the Asus Slate for about a week now, and I've put it through its paces. Overall, I'm really impressed.
Summary:
Pros
+ It's like it was was made for OneNote - stylus input and handwriting recognition are incredible
+ Screen is very bright and crisp, great viewing angles
+ Touch input experience is good as well, supports pinch zoom, etc
+ Fast, responsive, boots quick, runs Win7 apps well, good experience with office suite
+ Email and Web browsing is surprisingly easy with either touch or stylus input
+ Can handle some higher end games, though not a gaming machine
Neutral
= Was expecting it to be too heavy but was pleasantly surprised that is was not
= Was expecting the Win7 touch experience to be terrible, but it wasn't bad
= Is expensive but not bad if you compare it to a laptop with a core i5 and active digitizer
Cons
- Battery life is dismal
- Password entry is not fun, wish it had a fingerprint reader Important tip - make sure to install the optional firmware update to the digitizer from Windows Update.Details:
I've been keeping an eye out for a machine like this for years to use at work. I don't like using laptops to take notes. The flipped up screen and noise of typing is distracting to a conversation. This machine offers an experience like using pen and paper with all the advantages of electronic notes.
The combination of a good digitizer, the great handwriting recognition and palm reject of OneNote, and the general design of the tablet itself help make it the best machine I've seen for taking notes. The tablet is relatively heavy but still quite comfortable to hold in the palm of my hand or crook of my arm. It also rests well on a table. The stylus pops out of the tablet itself so you aren't forced to use a case (I don't). The tablet is quite thin and there is a solid border for gripping that keeps you from inadvertently touching the screen.
The screen itself looks really good - very bright and crisp. It will likely be the first thing you notice when you pick it up. Touch interface is also snappier than I expected, though the pinch zoom is not quite as smooth as the iPhone/iPad.
I was surprised with the email and browsing experience (use Outlook, Gmail, and Firefox). Clicking on links and small icons really isn't as hard as I was expecting, the touch keyboard works ok, and windows picks up handwriting pretty well. You aren't going to write a page long email easily, but there is always the ability to use a bluetooth or usb keyboard and mouse if needed.
Windows apps work fine, similar experience to a core i5 laptop. Gaming isn't too bad. Civ5 works well enough, and I would expect most puzzle and strategy games to work. Will not do as well on games where you worry about fps. Videos look great, again much like a core i5 laptop.
Wish the battery life were better. On the highest brightness setting, I get about 3hrs. I can squeeze 4-5hrs if I lower it a bit. This means I have to charge it half way through the day, which is a pain.
Password entry is also not great. You have to use the touch keyboard, and for security reasons it doesn't light up the keys. Makes it easy to screw up. Wish the tablet had a fingerprint reader or some other support for easier password entry.Overall, I am very happy with this tablet. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a machine to use at work or school (or at home if you use windows apps or the office suite a lot).Observation:
I've been following the marketing from ASUS for this tablet, and I think they have it wrong. They've been comparing it to an iPad. That'd be like Toyota comparing the Prius to a sports car. It doesn't make sense. Both the Asus Slate and iPad are fun in their own way, but serve very different purposes. Use the right tool for the task.
