(More customer reviews)I just unboxed the NEC NP510W projector today. Setup was simple (except LAN configuration). The image was crisp and bright, and that was just against the wall in my office. This will be an excellent day-to-day use portable projector for meetings with presentations. Only two complaints (both minor):
1. This thing pumps out a lot of heat! Even in eco mode, you probably don't want to sit directly across from the exhaust fan in a small room.
2. The LAN port is configured (out of the box) for 192.168.0.10. There is no way from the on screen menu to change LAN settings. You can't even put it in DHCP mode from the remote. I had to connect my PC directly and configure my local IP in the same subnet as the projector. Once configured for DHCP, I just created a reservation.
Don't miss the NEC PC Control utility. It is a free download off the NEC website that allows you to manage one or more LAN connected projectors. You have full control to power on/off, change inputs, setup schedules, and get data about available lamp hours and filter hours. Not sure why they didn't include this on the CD.
