This laptop has lasted longer and has had fewer problems than any computer I've ever owned (in 25 years of computing!) 4 years and counting. It was also the cheapest computer I've ever bought (found at wal-mart.)
It's a bit slow editing video, and the hard drive capacity by todays standards is marginal, but I can't complain.
The keys are flimsy and a couple popped off when my dog jumped on the keyboard, but they were easily fixable at a nearby Staples, without having to replace the whole keyboard. It has been dropped on hard floors a couple of times, and has been swung around in a duffle bag on numerous roadtrips, yet keeps on going.
15" display is good, no software issues out of the box, as it wasn't clogged with a bunch of junk to begin with (came loaded with Win XP media edition, CD software, and not much else.) The harddrive was partitioned, OS on C and data on D, so it runs pretty quickly and smoothly. It has suprisingly a lot of connectivity, including a (now rare) dialup modem, pcmcia port (that I broke, when I knocked the corner off a video capture card I had inserted); network interface, wi-fi, bluetooth, memory card reader (limited to 2gb cards or less, though), ext mouse, 3 usb ports, mic, headphone, line in, and ext monitor output. Also has a standard cd/dvd writer, which has always worked reliably with the included NTI software. I will be sad when it finally bites the dust, as all computers eventually do, but I think it was a bargain at $300, new.
