(More customer reviews)This is great MB with most new features. SATA3 (6GBs) controller (2ports), USB3.0 controller (2 ports), 6 DIMM slots (2 banks of 3, good for later upgrade), user-friendly BIOS, 2 PCIe-16 connectors (supports SLI/CrossFire), many other "bells and wistles". And it's small!
I connected 1TB WD Black drive (Sata3, 64MB cash) and it works notably faster than in Sata2 controller. Corsair XMS3 6GB kit was easy to install and configured to work in Cas7 mode. Core i7-950 CPU was easily configured and overclocked.
Drivers for the chipset and on-board peripherals (GBLAN, audio, USB, SATA etc.) installed under Win-7 without a glitch. After installation it downloaded a few newer drivers during Update and also installed those smoothly.
On-board SATA controllers can be raid-configured through bios and are raid-bootable.
The MB is relatively dummie-proof: when I set wrong/bad parameters in BIOS and it would not boot-up, then it would roll-back to previous "good" settings after reboot. Saved me a few nervous minutes. During POST it would inform if "overclocking failed" if needed and continue with "normal" settings, so it's safe to experiment.
Thermal management in BIOS is somewhat advanced: it allows to speed-control not only CPU fan, but also a case fan, so in "silent" mode the PC is very quiet when not in active use.
Personally, I like this MB alot, so it would be my choice for another PC, unless I want to build some super-duper liquid-cooled performance monster.
