(More customer reviews)I like this Eee PC 1001PXB so much that I bought two of them. It's Windows XP Home based (upgraded mine to pro) but that's what I bought it for. When I first started to use it, I was surprised by the performance of the 1.6Ghz Intel Atom and the performance is even better if you upgrade to 2GB of RAM and get a faster 7200RPM SATA hard drive which I did (fastest with a solid state drive though). It has 2 USB 2.0, 1 VGA, 1 SD Card reader, 1 10/100 Ethernet, 1 Headphone/Mic jack, 1 netbook cable lock, and a very nice glossy 10.1" LED screen. It also has integrated 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 0.3 Megapixel webcam (which is decent), and the speakers have decent sound quality located under the palm rest. The fan is also very quiet even under load which is a big plus for me. This netbook is also upgradable to Windows 7 without a problem.
The standard three cell battery lasts around 4 hours on average and the six cell battery lasts around 7 hours on average. This is a great netbook if you are still looking for Windows XP but like I said you can also upgrade to Windows 7. I recommend it to students and for people on the go. My only little complaint is the glossy smudge magnet palm rest and screen frame. However, the outside shell is matte and the underside is a smooth non smudge plastic. Get one! You'll be glad you did!
