(More customer reviews)I found nearly 60 positive reviews (average 4.8 stars) for this computer on the Walmart website, so I ordered it through Amazon to save money. So far, a week later, this computer is just as advertised. The screen is great, the features are great also. Be sure to make your recovery disks early, however. They take awhile, and that's a Windows 7 issue, not an issue with this computer. I'd buy it again, and will update this review as I get more experience with it. See the Walmart reviews.

(More customer reviews)This is by far the best laptop I've ever had (which is only 2....but this one still excels in comparison). I am using this laptop to type this review right now! It is the most reasonably priced considering that it's an HP and an entertainment laptop. I actually paid $1200 for my previous laptop with less memory/GBs, heavier is weight and size, and only lasted 'til my warranty. Finding this computer was a life-saver because I am a college student seeking to get into grad school and a cooperative laptop is extremely necessary....and I'm glad that I picked this one (after searching for months and not finding any thing in my price range). Again when looking for an excellent laptop and an excellent price....STOP RIGHT HERE!!!

(More customer reviews)I recently purchases this computer from Office Depot for $450. I had spent a lot of time researching computers and had almost settled on a wee little Asus netbook. I am so glad I went with this HP instead. I've had it 5 days now and everything works fine, screen is crystal clear, speakers are ok, could be a little better, and the keyboard is great. I like the track-pad too, most laptops now have stickyish track-pads that I don't really like, but with this one it's not as much. I'll move on to the pros and cons of this computer.
Pros:
Screen size. This screen is huge, and very clear.
4GB of RAM. Runs Youtube, Hulu, Netflix, and Pandora incredibly well. (Update 12/2/2010... Netflix runs slowly after 2 or 3 episodes, and so does hulu)
Intel Pentium Duel Processor. -Maybe not the best processor out there, but it does do well.
Windows 7 - Though personally I do like XP the best, Windows 7 has lots of useful (and some not so useful) features. It's not as fast as Xp, but it's definantly better then Vista. Opens programs fast.
Keyboard is great, so is track-pad.
Doesn't get hot! Even after having it on my lap for 3+ hours, it stayed cool. (Update 12/2/10... It get's hot! Quite hot)
Webcam is great, very clear.
Wireless-N
Cons:
Battery life - you can probably get anywhere from 2-3 1/2 hours on it depending on what you're doing. They could have given it more battery life, but I guess then it would be more expensive. (Update 12/2/2010... You can barely get an hour and a half now. And that's with the screen brightness all the way down and only using the internet.)

I liked it at first, and still do. But because of the battery life, and it's tendency to be slow and choppy sometimes I'm dropping it down to 4 stars.
(Update 12/7/2010) I received a battery error the other day. It said it needed to be replaced. Contacted HP tech support and found out I have 2 months left on my warranty, so after an 1 and 1/2 they're shipping me a new battery free. Hopefully this will fix the batter problem.

(More customer reviews)I wanted to replace my 2005 laptop with a 4GB, Core i3 machine and went looking for the best bang for the buck in this category. I did not want thin and light - this machine would rarely leave the house and I would just get a desktop except that, these days, it's nice to be able to move the PC from desk to couch to bed to kitchen for use as a TV, as a phone, as a photo album, as toddler entertainment...
The HP was on sale and provided the absolute max amount of screen for the dollar, and that was the deciding factor for me. Unlike a few years ago, most current laptops now have tremendous similarity in design and subcontractor components, so they all have decent keyboard, memory, hard drive, webcam, etc. But the screen on the HP was enormous compared to others at this price point and the casing had a nice texture.
I am very, very happy with this machine. If you are looking for desktop replacement, go big and you will not be disappointed. The only minor flaw so far is the miniature up/down arrows mentioned by another reviewer, though you canalways use the numeric keypad as backup arrows. I actually like the reprogramming of the useless F1-F12 keys for volume and other functions (a la Mac Book Pro) and consider this a plus.
Again, great value, great feel, freaking giant screen. Love it.

(More customer reviews)I Purchased this for my wife at Staples and she loves it. We paid only $479 and you will not find anything near this Laptop even close to that price. It offers so much, an updated I3-Core 370 processor, 500 GB HDD, 4 GB Memory and more. Compare it to anything else and it is a no brainer. I have noticed that all of the local stores have it now as a promo with these fetures and they fluxuate each week in price from $599 down to $499 depending on the store ad's. Look at your circulers people. Dont get fooled by the other G72's out there for over $600 that have the the low end processors and less HDD and Memory (Walmart etc. for the low end slower model) This is a great deal. My only complaint is the new G72s and G62s have adopted the new mouse pad which takes a little getting used to, but believe me you get used to it within a week. Very Happy with this. Check it out. You will love it. Staples, Office Depot, PC Richards all offer it and every week, they alternate from $599 and lower but each store will allow the price of the other one if you bring in the circular.
