The build quality on this piece is absolutely superb. The leather (belting) is very thick and gives the impression of stability, reliability and quality. All of the stitching is very straight and provides just enough of a visual contrast to the leather to be a decorative accent. The handles are thick, well padded and very comfortable. This bag sits upright, so when you go to a meeting, you can set it down beside you and pull from it as you need, without having to flop it on a table.
So many people have converted to shoulder bags of varying styles. The problem with those bags is that they invariably tug on the neck of your shirt, sport coat or other garment and make you look disheveled, regardless of what you are wearing. The advantage of a briefcase is that it allows you to carry it in one hand and your clothes stay neat and presentable. This bag has a timeless style and will complement any outfit you choose. So many other bags are loaded with superfluous buckles, toggles and straps that they make you look like you should be on safari instead of in an office. This bag is so beautiful and well built that it should last you an entire career.
