(More customer reviews)Great Laptop. I'm using this machine for a variety of applications, from Adobe's Lightroom, Starcraft 2, as well as Reason. The 1080p 17.3 inch screen is really sharp, and the color reproduction looked pretty good, so using Lightroom with this is a joy. Starcraft 2 runs full 1080p with ultra for the graphic settings. My older desktop would choke with a full screen zergling rush, but not this Laptop. Reason runs well, no noticeable latency with the default audio drivers, dunno if they are ASIO, but I haven't needed the ASIO4All drivers as of yet.
Heat is noticeable when running intensive apps.HP has managed the GPU heat well in a notebook. Order a Cooler Master R9-NBC-8PCK-G (the one with three fans) and that will help as well.
Grab a wireless Bluetooth mouse, the clickpad flips out if you leave a finger even near it. This notebook has bluetooth built in, so you can avoid a nasty wireless adaptor sticking out the side. I recommend Logitech mice.
Battery life is lackluster, but this IS a beast of a laptop. You buy this for power, not battery life. the 6 cell lasted for about 2 hours of Starcraft 2 play, and I could switch off to the 9 cell if I wanted.
Hooked up to my DLP 1080i Samsung TV (via HDMI), setup was easy, Blu-Ray discs played well and looked good on the screen, and Starcraft 2 did as well.
On top of it all, kudos to Amazon. They day after I received the laptop, Amazon dropped the price of it. A phone call to Amazon, I mentioned the difference in price, and that I just received the laptop a day prior, and she took care of it with a credit back to my card before I could even ask for it.
I am a power user and a computer/server technician. This laptop meets and exceeds my needs, and looks good doing it.
