I am quite familiar with the ISY and what is does and how well it does it, and I was pleased to see, that for a brief period of time, it worked as expected. I am satisfied that 5 stars will be earned by the replacement, and I was pleased to see that the supplier stands behind its products as well as Amazon.com. The item will be replaced at the same (sale) price. A customer support agent at the manufacturer spent over an hour on the phone trying to get it to work. Another phone call to Smarthome, and the device will be exchanged with little pain on anyone's part. Sometimes new electronic devices fail. That's the way of the world.
About two weeks later. The replacement has been operating fine for almost two weeks. Exactly as promised. Rating raised to five stars. It should be noted that aside from simple operations, getting the full potential out of this device requires some facility with programing and some degree of inventiveness to get it to do everything you want it to do. Purchasers are advised to consult the online instructions and Wiki for this product to make sure they are up to making it worthwhile.
