(More customer reviews)I've had this laptop for a little over nine months now and running on Windows7 64bit as opposed to the OEM version of Vista64. The reason I've waited this long before doing a review is crucial because most laptops usually show signs of malfunction within the 60-90 day window period, but this puppy held up pretty good and I am more than satisfied with it so therefore I am sharing my experience. I'm pretty sure by the time I do this review, most laptops would be in their obsolete stage by now, but the features packed in this unit is sure to provide any avid user for at least another 2-4 years, if not, longer. The unit is solid-built, there are no creases or flexing of any kind when moving around while the unit is ON and at work.
The T8100 dual core processor (at 2.1GHZ) with the aid of 4GB RAM has more than enough juice to handle just about any tasks -- even for the average gamer. It operates whisper-quiet, runs cool and extremely efficient. If you're into the bigger screen/bigger notebooks like me, then you're in for a treat; the P305-S8997E might be bigger than average but it is light. It boasts a 17.1" TruBrite High-Definition LCD panel - yet short of nothing but bright (I turned the display all the way down to '1'). The screen also supports native a 720P contents for all you movie lovers. Last but not least; the speakers sound AMAZING! I'm not saying this because it puts out a "loud and clear enough sound" like your average PC notebook speakers, I'm raving on the amount of "bass and drums" coming from the harman/kardons. The sound is rich and overall balanced, just enough to deliver those bass-lines and bass drums to fill the overall audio imaging.
