HARDWARE INSTALLATION:
Attaching additional RAM and HDD was a breeze. The document was self-explanatory and the slots were logical placed on the motherboard.
OPERATION SYSTEM INSTALLATION:
Installing Fedora 14 Desktop OS was a breeze. I managed to do it under 20 minutes. All hardware components were detected natively and could it get it up and running with Open Office without any hiccups. I finally uninstalled it as I could not get "Netflix instant watch" up and running.
Bad Netflix.... very very bad Netflix...Installing Windows Vista was a big pain. Despite trying for over 4 hours, I couldn't build a bootable Vista disk using 8 GB SDHC card. I finally had to use my dusty old external HDD to build 5 GB FAT 32 partition and then copy paste contents from Vista OS DVD.
For the faint hearted, I would strongly recommend Fedora Desktop or Windows 7.
DEVICE DRIVERS / ONLINE ZOTAC SUPPORT:
Zotac site wrongly listed the drivers to download. I had to rely on drivers provided in bundled CD to install wireless NIC drivers. Zotac forums were full of rich information.
PERFORMANCE:
1.2 Ghz dual core Celeron is surprisingly fast. I would definitely recommend it over Atom processors. Given its small power consumption, its a great device for HTPC or always on desktop that can used for simple tasks like browsing, using office (MS Office or Open Office), email etc.
