(More customer reviews)Bought this card for my wifes 890fx board, phenom 955 oc to 3.8ghz with 4 gig of g.skill ripjaws 1600 . let me say first. The picture of this that is used for advertisment does not really show how big it is and how nice of quality it has really has. It is a beast of a card . I have 2 hd6870 ref cards with the red and black pin stripes on the shroud intalled in xfire on my asus chfIV board and this card dwarfs them. As soon as i pulled the card out of the box and seen the heavy duty black alluminum Backplate underneath it with the huge heatpipes my jaw dropped. Makes the referance hd6870 cards look like toys . It is huge! The black plastic shroud i would guess makes it an inch or maybe a little longer than the ref cards. I was lucky it fit into my wifes storm scout case without modifying the back part of the shroud with a dremel . It is also a little thicker than two slots but if i wanted to xfire them on this biostar 890fx mb it would just clear to slide the second card in. Unfortunatly i would not be able to xfire 2 of these beast bucuz i put in x-fi titanium where i would put the second card .Again What really impressed me about the this card was the the thick black aluminum plate that covers the top of the card after it was installed into the system . It screams quality! I will be quik about the benchmarking and overclocking i did on this beast . as soon as i got the drivers installed i went to ccc overdrive cranked the fan to 100% and slid the gpus slider all the way to the right to 1000mhz and did the same thing with the memory clock from 1050 to 1250 and hit apply . i then downloaded cod black ops , furmark , and unigine heaven and did some 3d tweaks in the ccc 3d settings . ran furmark stabilty for awile with no crashes. i was sure it would crash the system with the cores maxed out like my ref cards do if i slide the settings up . nope not this beast . plays black ops maxed out with out a hiccup/stutter,, buttery smooth baby!:D i set the cores and fan back to the defaults and ran the unigine directx11 benchmark with everything turned off . no aa , no af and no tessilation and whatever else that is in the settings . just bare minimum settings and ran it for a few minutes and it seemed to hover around 39-40 fps. Shut the program down went back turned everything back up in ccc and ran the benchmark again with the cores maxed out and got 49-51 fps . this card is sick sick sick . it is rock solid stable with the both cores sliders in ccc overdrive maxed out . Probubly due to the aluminum backplate and the huge hsf with the crazy huge heat pipes this thing sports . i got an extra 10fps when i overclocked the thing . crazy nice quality . prob gonna have to pick up another and ditch my x-fi titanium to make room for another. ewwww onboard sound,,eeeek:D
