(More customer reviews)"Goddaughter" wanted a basic DVD player with wi-fi capability for when she upgrades to wi-fi. Due to family circumstances, couldn't afford a fancy, or much else, and knows only a minimum about computers. I do a lot of helping friends and family with computer stuff, but am no techie. Low price was paramount, but with decent performance (no heavy games, no big graphics beyond playing the DVD, no major programs...she has a desktop for that), Windows 7, a DVD player, and 15" to 16" screen. After my usual research, the Acer 5741Z seemed to fill the bill nicely, at a reasonable price for an entry level user. After several weeks of use, she finds it useful, capable, and it does what she wants it to do: be a small, portable (in the house) entertainment center. It has done that well, and she says she likes it. I have no complaints at all, for a basic laptop.
