I migrated my copy of Office 2007 from my previous laptop to this one and I've got every app I need. This makes a fantastic portable internet beast! The cd drive consumes no power unless it has a disc in it, it's like it isn't even there, but on the rare times you need it, it comes right back to life. Easily carry this laptop around with one hand and all I know about the battery is that it's 6+ hours, I often forget the last time I charged it (I use it for a hour or two a day and let it charge once it's 15% charged or less). This is a great for non-pc familiar parents starting online to teens or college students (anybody!). Windows 7 64-bit won't be a problem for those used to x86/32-bit and all the programs work just the same. Windows 7 is a great leap over Vista and though different from XP which I had loved, It only took a few days to get up to speed. Windows 7 is a great OS. I would recommend this to new and adept PC users. If you have a specific need (mid to high end video gamer, video editor, CAD...) maybe you might need a full-power processor, but for business people or students this is a perfect fit.
