(More customer reviews)Bought this heavy duty wall mount for my new 55 inch TV. Came with all the attachments for every TV type and all the hardware needed to mount the TV. It's too complicated to mount it myself (drilling holes into the wall studs [2}) so I had a professional installer do it.
It is heavy duty because it pulls out to 32" from the wall, thus supporting more weight than the TV itself. In my case I needed it to reach out to 30" due to the "old" type of house construction the has a recessed area for an entertainment center.
Highly recommended even for the price. Purchased from Amazon which included free shipping especially since it weighs 48#.

Single Arm Mnt Review

(More customer reviews)This is a heavy duty piece of hardware. Think of the equipment you see mounted on the walls in your dentist's office. That's this. However, I recommended you hit both studs with 4 lag bolts and washers (specified in the directions but not included). I think mine was an unusual installation because my studs were in almost the worst possible position so I had to shift the main support post all the way to the right 5+ inches to keep the TV centered on the wall. My pictures should explain.
Be very accurate on the level of the frame when bolting it to the wall. You can adjust the level of the TV a little bit afterwards, but if the frame is not level then the TV may still be a bit off at the extreme left or right.
The 50" LG Plasma we bought has plenty of swinging room to be used in two opposite rooms without straightening the center tube all the way out from the wall. Also, it DOES come with the universal kit which is adaptable for any conceivable flat panel TV.
By the way, I bought two of these wallplates to hide the cables in the wall:
Datacomm Electronics 45-0021-WH Recessed Cable Plate (White) I might paint them blend into the wall better.
If you do the wiring right, this is wife approved :-) Neat, permanent, no fuss, very easy to adjust.

Peerless Universal Articulating Wall Arm for 37-Inch - 71-Inch Flat Panel Screens (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)This wall mount is a beast. It's cast aluminum and steel construction and it is definitely heavy duty. It accommodated a 75 pound LCD TV with ease. It does require some skill to install, especially if your wall framing isn't specifically set up for this mount. The cast aluminum mounting holes on the arms are 16" on center and have a sliding feature that allows you to slide the TV left or right a total of about 12". You might squeak out another few inches if you move the mounting plate on the back of the TV left or right, but plan on having the mount close to the center of your mounting point. My framing was set up so that I wound up milling some 1" ash lumber about 4" wide and using that to catch three studs. I could then attach this mount to the ash on the wall to put the TV dead center on the wall.
The actual mount is two pieces. The articulating arm mounts on the wall and the plate that goes on the back of your TV. It has a clever two bolt drop in system that allows you mount the wall arm and then slide the TV and TV mount onto the wall arm. There are 4 total bolts that hold the TV bracket to the wall mount. The wall mount uses 5/16 x 3 1/2" lags for wood studs. I can't comment on brick or steel framed walls - I had wood studs with drywall. One thing I did not like was that none of the included hardware for the TV mounting plate really had the proper washers for the TV bracket, they were simply too small. I bought some proper sized metric hex bolts and washers to mount the TV plate to the back of my TV.
The instructions could be better written and some of the bolts described in the directions don't match what is on the wall mount. Individual mounting variations aside, this mount easily adjusts in multiple directions and is extremely well built. I would recommend this mount as long as you have some carpentry skill and someone to help out. It's not a one person job because the mount itself is pretty heavy - 60+ pounds. As long as you have requisite installation skills, I would readily endorse the quality and construction of this wall mount.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this mount knowing it was considerably more money when compared to other mounts on the market. My reasoning is that when you are putting out $2000 for a HDTV, you don't want to go cheap on the wall mount you are going to hang it on. The Bell'o is built like a tank. It is solid and it is heavy. It is a very nice design. The arm comes completely assembled with the bottom rail. Intallation is pretty easy. You mark the wall for the top rail, drill holes and mount the rail with two lag bolts. The entire arm assembly goes up next to hang on the top rail. This was the hardest part of the installation because the arm can move and it is a bit awkward because of the weight. Two people may be required. After it is up, mark the holes for the lower mounting rail and take the arm back down. Drill the holes. Put the arm back up and drive the other two lag bolts. That's it. Four bolts and you are done with the arm. Not like some of cheapo ones that are like erector sets with all of the brackets and things to screw together. You drive four more screws to put the brackets on the TV and then lift the TV into place. Then put in two locking screws to secure the TV brackets to the arm. Done. 10 screws total.
Adjustments are a piece of cake. One included tool for adjusting tilt, level, arm tension, etc. The wall bracket has a spot to hold the tool so no worries about losing the wrench. After you are done adjusting, there are plastic snap on covers to give the installation a nice finished look.
I had my doubts when it was up on the wall but I soon became a believer when I pulled the arm out straight and I did a chin up on it and I weigh over 200 lbs and the arm never flinched. (We purchased this from my wifes account but Carole's husband is actually writing this review) Ok, my 76 lb VIZIO 55 inch TV is going to do just fine.
Can you buy a cheaper TV mount? Sure. Can you buy a better one for the application? I doubt it.

Let me reassure your gut instinct. There is a difference and there is a reason this mount costs a little more. Let me break it down easily:
Pros:
VERY sturdy, this thing is not going anywhere.
Smooth quiet operation
extends pretty far from wall
Peerless gives you everything you need and it is organized
Glossy black gives it that professional feel
Nothing feels rickety, all the parts are solid
Cable management pieces included.
Cons:
It is heavy! Not really a con but something to be aware of.
If you aren't strong, installing this can be difficult by yourself
My TV wasn't listed on the sheet as supported but web site said it was. No info on what screws to use on my TV. I am using a Sony Bravia Z-Series KDL-46Z4100.
Again, not a con but an FYI - you need 2 maybe 3 people to help mount the actual TV
Price is higher
Bottom line, if you are in the market for an articulating bracket this is a great purchase. I am so happy I spent a few extra dollars and got something that is safe, functional, and will out last me.
