(More customer reviews)I recently decided to pursue the endeavor of building my own computer for gaming. After thorough research, I almost went with a GTX 295, but through some accidental discovery, happened upon the ATI HD 5870. I saw it was roughly $150 less, and after looking into it further, learned there wasn't that much of a performance difference.
I know a lot of people out there talk about how video cards place Crysis or what not, but I have to say, this card is pretty amazing. It handles everything I throw at it, and doesn't blink. I haven't had any hiccups, glitches, freezes...anything. I am quite amazed at how well this card works.
Also, it stays relatively cool and really isn't loud at all. I have a big case, an HAF-922, and it fits perfectly with plenty of room.
If I were to give it a con, I would definitely say it's the availability of them right now. I got lucky one day and jumped on this card, regardless of brand (as long as it had a lifetime warranty). I haven't been disappointed in the least. All the drivers work. The card works. It performs outstanding.
Get the card. You will not regret the decision. Just get it. If you can find it.
