(More customer reviews)These machines are incredible. I really can't figure out how it is so rugged yet so light. Every person I hand one to is surprised at how light it is. The first time you pick it up, you think it is a dummy unit with no internal guts. It is THAT light. Don't be fooled by the light weight, though. Just because it feels light like a toy, it is still more rugged than most laptops you've ever used.
These aren't the ultra-rugged cinder-block-like Toughbook 31's, but they are pretty rugged. You can spill liquid on the keyboard, for instance, and it will simply drain out the bottom. Not too bad.
The 2.4GHz core 2 processor makes it nice and peppy, too, so it isn't a dog running your applications (like the Toughbook 31 is... ultra-rugged = limited ability to cool the internals with fans and vents = low-power and low-heat processor). Screen is nice and bright, easy to see even outdoors.
I'm replacing a bunch of ThinkPad X61 tablets with these Toughbook C1's and, so far, they are holding up much better than the ThinkPads did.
As I mention in the title, the only real downside is the high price on these guys, but I guess you get what you pay for.
