(More customer reviews)We purchased this tv as it was advertised for the Black Friday special at Sears. Samsung has an excellent reputation, don't make a mistake about that. But after our purchase, I found some reviews and the specs for the unit. AFTER the purchase. Some ppl love the TV, other ppl had issues with some of the input/output outlets and a few grumbles about the TV visual quality itself.
The size of the TV is awesome (model LN40C500). We have an HD cable box and a blu-ray DVD player. I played around a little with the picture settings, still trying to maximize the calibration. For the non HD channels coming through my cable box, the difference IS noticable. My previous westinghouse TV made every channel pretty.
So, bottom line, we may have upgraded on some things, but I'm not totally wowwed over. I think in retrospect, I would have invested the extra 50-100 bucks for the next model up.
PS - no matter what any sales person says, the TV is in fact a 60hz. It says so at the startup when you first turn the TV on...but unless you have two tv's side by side when you are watching, the difference btwn 120 and 60 will not be noticed.
