It does not get close to 4.25 hours of battery life and I don't think it would get 4.25 hours even if configured differently. It does charge quickly. It should be noted that some of your software will need upgrades due to Windows 7 being the operating system and I have replaced some of the HP stuff with more up to date, easier to use software, at minor cost. I was warned that the surface shows fingerprints easily and that turns out to be true. Easily cleaned as well.
All in all, a great computer with the next step in operating systems. Personally, I was happy with XP, but once you get use to Win 7 it's great.
