I admit I'm not very computer literate but when I saw the sale price right after Thanksgiving ($177.00 + Tax - refurbished), I jumped on it as soon as the doors opened at BIG LOTS (They only had 15 to sell...). I immediately brought it home & fired it up. All went smoothly & I was surfing the internet in about 30 minutes. I also took it on a trip to the mid-west & used it at the airport, motel, etc. Everything to my knowledge WORKS GREAT. I received a pop-up to register my purchase at Gateway and when I went to the web-site I did so with the serial number on the unit & was astonished to see I had a one year warranty - I understood the warranty was only good for 90 days; being re-furbished...? Oh well, who's complaining? I also immediately got a two year warranty, in addition to the factory 1-year, thru SQUARE TRADE for about $17.00. So I figured I'm pretty well covered if anything happens. Granted, it doesn't have all the bells & whistles of a full lap-top but for me - it's all I need. And if my Grandson needs something more, he can have my DELL laptop...........
